"This city boomed with life before the attack."

Yeah, sounds kind of generic. But I assure you, the map itself is not.

The concept for this map came when I was playing Call of Duty 4 with a few of my friends. I wanted a map that was very urban, and sort of half destroyed. Unlike CoD4, I wanted the map to feature vehicles, as well. The result is what you see here:

This is way above the map, but I had to get a good shot of the towers. The towers are not directly accessible (unless you fly up with the hornet), but they make the map look much better. I used the radio towers and dynamic lights to make antennas on each one.

This is the attacker's base. It is visible in the right-middle of the overview. It isn't much, but the rocket spawns here inside the half-pyramid, and the turret is a force to be reckoned with against hornets.

This is the defender's base. It's a little bit more substantial, but not completely fortified against the attackers. It has ample cover, and houses the missile pod, a crucial weapon against the vehicles here.

This is the camo spawn. That's the attacker's base in the upper-right. It houses an SMG as well. I loved the look of the obelisks, and so I made a monument/ribcage out of them, and tilted some and added debris for that war-torn feel.

This is the OV spawn. It is supposed to look that way, because it is positioned at the base of...

...this. A collapsed tower. This is my personal favorite piece of the map, because it isn't purely asthetic; a sniper spawns at the highest point of the debris. The defender's base is visible just behind it to the left, and the attacker's base can be glimpsed at the very right.

In the center of the map, visible in the last picture with the hornet on top, is a neutral three-story building. This is the first floor. See that pallet to the left? It covers the hole to the crypt, where if players look/fall down, a kill ball covers the bottom entrance. This is popularly known as the 'furnace', which powers the lights on the towers.

This is the second floor of the building. It houses a few windows, along with assorted weapons. It is crucial, however, because it houses the Spartan laser, which is needed for either team to control the map.

The third and top floor is a helipad of sorts. It houses a regular, non-nerfed hornet, which is necessary to control the map. It is not overpowered on this map because of the presence of both a missile pod and laser. The defender's base is visible to the top-left.

This is another neutral area, housing the scorpion. The scorpion balances out with the map, because if a game is being played, it is almost impossible for a single team to hold the laser, missile pod, hornet, scorpion, and gauss hog. One of these powerful weapons is always present. The ramp to the left goes over a tunnel system leading to/from the defender's base to/from the tank.

And now he part you've all been waiting for: Action Shots!

Hornet vs. Mongoose: Hornet wins. Period.

    Air strike!

    Tank'd.

    Looks great!

Beautiful looking, defanitely an original design. The only issues i have are your vehichles choices. A tank i can understand to a degree, but the hornet should [IMO] be a transport, not the assault variant.

Alright, let the review begin. i like the idea because i used to play cod and i always wanted to make my own versions of stuff. the map looks good but a little empty weapon wise. also, i think it would be a little better if you blocked it off somehow. Another thing i noticed is that you were going for a somewhat destroyed look. i think making that happen would be much easier if you merged and interlocked a little more(didn't see if there actually was any). i can't download now because im finishing my map but ill try to in the near future. good job!

Wow... You did an amazing job off pulling of the feeling of a destroyed city. The aesthetics are wonderful, especially the toppled tower. What's even better is how you incorporated it into the gameplay.

I can already say that there are a lot of efficient call-outs for this map. I really like how every feature of this map is unique, but flow together well.

As for the middle building, is there only one way up to the top floors? From the pictures I can see that there is only one staircase to the second floor and one staircase to the top floor. Other than that being an easily camped choke-point, I can't see any other major flaws in this map. Can you provide a weapon list and a list of supported gametypes? That would help out a lot. I'm looking forward to more of your projects in the future.

    5/5

You spelled the name of your own map wrong... the word is "infrastructure". Not "infastructure".

But... I don't feel like getting an infraction for spam posting, so...

I get it that you're trying to make the place look wrecked, but usually when someone makes a wreck in a map, it works to a persons advantage to getting around.

Try making it look more believable... although, I do like how you have the quarter walls on the base for quick release.. Nice plan there. =]

I playtested for a while because I thought the same. As it turns out, for the hornet to shoot you, it has to be fairly low to the ground. Because of the different towers and buildings, this makes it so the hornet is usually blocked by a building or the like, and gives a player enough cover. Plus, the hornet takes out the tank, and vice-versa.

Fantastic... this map has really caught my eye. Since the earliest mentionings of Foundry, I've struggled to pull off an urban map. In some ways, the basic design of your map reminds me of the H2 map Headlong, and the ruined buildings really add to the general aesthetics. I love the idea of multi-tiered combat, and the map looks great for any FFA games.

In terms of criticism, it might be an idea to add in some [more] interlocking if you're planning a V2. This could really perfect the aesthetics, and give players a smoother walk around the map. The vehicle choice worries me slightly, as it seems fairly easy for a Scorpion to simply perch on the hillside and rain destruction upon any bystanders. However, I've yet to have played the map, so I'm merely speculating.

Your map looks good. You've got my download.

    EDIT:

Right, after a quick forge-through, I'm even more impressed than I thought. My bad, most of your objects are merged as well as possible, and I obviously misinterpreted your screenshots. If there were one thing that should be altered; I think you need to add a bit more cover between the buildings as much of the outer area is simply dead space, and I can forsee a lot of stalemates with one bloke sitting on the sand dunes in a tank, with all the other players just trying to sit tight and camp in the buildings. Of course, you're at the item limit, so there's really little you can do without changing the vehicle set-up entirely. I would go with removing the tank and putting in a transport hornet to replace the super-1337 hornet. In the garage you could have a warthog or something similar.

Also, I found a potentially game-breaking issue as players can escape (yep, escape) your map. If you throw a bubble shield into the hole and time your fall correctly, you can simply bypass the kill ball and land safely in the crypt. In oddball, that could be a problem.

Now that's me being really picky, and probably sounding like a complete bastard at the same time. Nethertheless, I really like the concept behind your map, and you've done a great job with the overall structuring of it.

    More please :)

This is the first Sandbox map I have seen that truly captures that "destroyed/war-torn feel." It certainly makes the map stand out a lot in terms of aesthetics. Gameplay looks very fun and even though there are a lot of power weapons/vehicles, very balanced. You have my DL.

    BTW, you spelled infrastructure wrong.

Looks pretty nifty! Although I have nearly all of my download slots full (i've been on this site all week and have not gotten on my xbox). I like the urban feel and I like how the building was made in the middle and has the hornet on top. Some of the vehicles may be overpowered, but I'll have to see after I have tried it myself.

    For looks: 5/5

Firstly...you vehicle choices....NOT GOOD. Well, specifially the Gauss Hog and the Hornet. I hosted a game of 1 Flag Brs on this and the Hornet dominated the map within 60 seconds, it wasnt fun at all.....the gauss hog was only used in 1 round, and also dominated, and at times it was awkward to use....

What I did was replace the Hornet with a transport, and the gauss hog with a regular hog, and now ever game I play on this is fun and smooth. Have you thought about putting this into Atlas? Its a REALLY fun map, as long as you make the game BRs

Your 3 story building is made pretty well, but my favorite thing about it is stopping the flag carrier with a battle rifle from the roof...so awesome, and it really reminds me of Headlong. The 'broken down tower' which houses the Sniper is a cool touch too, it usually takes people a while to realize wher your sniping from, this map is themed really well.
I never found the Tank or Hornet to be really overpowering either (Although I switched the Hornet to the Transport)

The only thing negative I have to say about this map...is that not enough people know about it lol.
Or maybe, for the offensive team, when you're bringing back the flag people always seem to get confused about where to plant it, and how to get back on the roof of that small building, people always circle around the hole thing, only to come back to the front door....

But yea, awesome map for 1 Sided shiznit
