    Tension
    *version 1.1

    Download

I've been making maps on Forge for a while, but this will be my first Forge Hub submission. Tension was built on the ground floor of Sandbox and is meant to accommodate Slayer and Capture the Flag (One Flag and Multi Flag).

The map consists of two identical (but mirrored) bases and a large pyramid-ish structure in the middle. Each sides starts with a Warthog (standard chain gun), Mongoose, and Banshee. To counter the vehicles, each side also starts with a power drain and missile pod.

The "power weapons" consist of 2 Sniper Rifles, a Rocket Launcher (within the center tube), and 2 Shotguns.

There is also an overshield atop the center pyramid and two active camos underneath the starting spawns.

I ran into the object limit just short of finishing the spawn placement, so the spawn points were placed carefully and deliberately. Also, the maps only correctly supports CTF and Slayer as of now (future alterations may be edited to include Assault and so on).

If the description and images below aren't enough, I can do a full weapon and vehicle rundown at a later time. The load-outs certainly are reasonable (I know there are 6 BR's, 2 AR's, 2 Needlers, 2 Brute Shots, 4 Plasma Rifles, 4 SMGs, and 2 Bubble Shields in addition to what I listed already. I can't remember if there's anything else and I'm not sure on respawn times off the top of my head.)

I guarantee fun for all or your money back! (Wait... I can't charge for my map? Ah... Well...)

    Here are some screen shots:

Here's an easy rundown for those who don't like paragraphs. :D

Weapon Load-Out (As accurately as I can remember):

    Missile Pod x 2
    Sniper Rifle x 2
    Rocket Launcher x 1
    Shotgun x 2
    Battle Rifle x 6
    Assault Rifle x 2
    Needler x 2
    Brute Shot x 2
    Plasma Rifle x 4
    SMG x 4
    Covenant Carbine x 2

    Equipment Load-Out:

    Bubble Shield x 2
    Regenerator x 2
    Power Drain x 2
    Overshield x 1
    Active Camo x 2
    Plasma Grenade x 8
    Frag Grenade x 4 (or 8... I'm fairly certain it's 4.)

    Vehicle Load-Out:

    Mongoose x 2
    Warthog x 2
    Banshee x 2

    Supported Game Types:

    Slayer
    Capture the Flag

    Recommended Game Variations:

    Team Slayer
    Team BR's
    Slayer
    Slayer BR's
    Multi Flag CTF
    One Flag CTF

The map isn't pixel-perfect, but it's functionally solid and a lot of fun for 4-12 players. (2-16 is supported, but 4-12 seems to work best.)

    Download

*I fixed 2 faulty BR spawns and did some minor interlocking and shifting. Also, 2 plasma pistols have been removed as well as 4 plasma grenades.

    Thanks much.

Forge takes simple things and makes them either impossible or tedious at times. I tried to line things up completely square, but I occasionally fell short.

Things aren't clearly visually off and there shouldn't be any inconsistencies that affect gameplay, though. Unless you're searching for glitches, there's little to be bothered by.

It seems like a fairly solid reworking of Sandbox's default concept. The only criticism I can really make based on your screenshots is that the map could do with a little interlocking here and there simply to neaten the joins a little. You could end up giving yourself some a few spare objects to place which is always handy.

Otherwise, a good post with some detailed screenshots and a fairly good description. Looks like good fun to play on... which is of course the main thing.

    Downloaded.

If I make any substantial changes, I'll update the page. Interlocking can certainly fix the occasional gaps.

Thanks for downloading, by the way.

Also, I have to mention that I put this together in about 3 days. I'm quite proud of that simply because it's not complete trash! :) It's good to see that there's at least marginal interest in a map of this sort.

I may very well make some edits in the coming days and then edit the opening post.

Alright, some edits have been made. The link now directs you to the edited version, but you can still find the old version in my file share.

    Sorry for the uber-posting...
