I will only buy if it had 257 players but, I don't have a PS3 anyway FL:FoW attempted a Huge team game w/e oyu call it and it sucked so yea
I didn't like frontlines either, but I still play Resistance, and that's 60 player, This should definately be interesting enough to at least try in my opinion..
i like FL:fow. it may seem a bit older, but on the computer it has 64 players. on some maps that is so awesome; in halo you have a maximum of 15 targets with a sniper. in FL, you get a max of 63. it is so awesome.
a waste of time trying to create an engine that wont lag + squad warfare, people want 256 player FFA or TS i think this game will suck.............terribly
How do you know it won't have quality? You should probably play the game before you pass judgments. Nameen?
ok ill elaborate you think halo 3 lags a lot when theres only eight people in your game so imagine how bad lag would be in games of this size i said it would be a waste of time because it would probably take a lot of money to create and test a non-lag engine capable of supporting 256 players it would suck because funding would be wasted on an engine so practically no money would go to graphics or actual gameplay just think of it as a car, youve got a nice engine but who would drive it if it looks like crap
You can't compare it to Halo, Halo has ridiculously bad lag. It is very hard for a shooter to be bad nowadays, CoD4, Halo, KZ2 and Resistance are all essentially the same. Graphics don't mean anything when it boils down to it.
Halo 3 lag is due to the server types, bungie run universal network servers, that have to support millions online, and it's just a bad way of doing it. Fantastic game, but a bad choice of server type. MAG is set to run on independant servers, that are designed to support bridge connections of 256 or however many people, and as much as I hate to admit it, the PS3 is more powerful, and capable of running these servers online, without lag. Admittably, graphics would take a hit, but It'd be worth it. Also, If it got me fast enough from A to B, I'd drive the car.
The makers of the game are assuming everyone will play by the rules. Unfortunately, on the internet, you can't really trust people to do that. Games have to be designed so that players can do whatever the hell they want, otherwise it isn't fun. Just look at BTB Shenanigans. Is that playing by the rules? What if the commander in M.A.G. just decides to **** with people? Maybe they should implement some sort of feature for relieving the commander from his duties via a majority vote if he's just trying to make his team lose.
@ AS - that's a pretty good point, and an amazing idea.. There should definitely be some sort of order system... and it should be just players vote; because there are always dicks that will vote people off for a laugh. Ideally, the whole thing should be staff monitored, but that's not really practical, I guess.
