This is an idea I've had ever since the Sandbox Sketchup Components came out. I decided I want to make this for a couple reasons. 1. It goes with the map surroundings. 2. It's never been done. 3. Aesthetic Space ships / Stations are done to death. This is an Aesthetic map that takes place on the middle level of Sandbox. It is a Large Mammoth/Elephant creature skeleton buried half deep in the sands. Here is my Rough draft of the structure. (down) I have already begun forging and am coming up on 50% complete. The rest of my forging requires small interlocks and merges. I still have yet to make the ribs, and part of head. Yes, I used Interlocking and Geomerging, It wasn't needed in some areas, but it always makes things look pretty. After Eight Emerald Legs came out, I said to myself, I wanna beat that! With the way I'm creating this design, tweaking it, and making it as real as i can, I just might be able to do that. *PICTUERS OF FORGING WILL COME VERY SOON* so keep that in mind. THEY'RE HERE!!! lol The outer picture makes the guy look smaller than an ant... Thank you and Goodnight. Oh, and leave some constructive critisism por favor ---- Gracious - Given to Fly 93
Mainly Eight Emerald Legs, It was a huge aesthetic map that nobody thought of before, and it was amazing, so I wanted to make something similar, but different.. The game will be set up for snipers, rocket race,
The sketch-up looks really amazing. The map seems to be coming out very nicely. I can't wait to see the finished product and play on it.
Is it supose to resemble a buried Mammoth skeleton because that is the vibe I'm getting from it. EDIT never mind I didn't read the entire post. sorry
But is that Sketch Up picture the final? Because it really doesn't look like much.. although the aesthetics are beautiful. I don't like the lack of cover or bases. What's up with that? Reminds me a lot of Emerald Legs!
Sick and aesthetically beautiful. Although the sketch-up doesn't really give me that feel of a buried mammoth skeleton the actual pictures of your WiP sure does.
Hmm, I don't know about bases, but if you have enough budget to make it into a competitive map, that would be sweet.
I think that including bases would turn this map into something with a lot of replay value, instead of just a really nice looking map. I think it has amazing potential for one-sided objective games..
If you have extra budget/items you could make the bases aesthetically pleasing. Such as making them sort of in the ground as if they were being uncovered at the same time as the mamoth. You could also make the bases out of the skeletons of smaller animals.
