When geomerging a Fence Box I get the same result. No matter how I brace it it will just move through the braces somehow. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Could you give more info like, what are you using for braces?, which direction are you trying to geomerge it?, and what are you trying to geomerge it into? I use teleporters for braces and Iv'e never had a problem with them. If you already are using teleporters try adding mancannons to each side.
I've been trying to use the geomerging with doors technique and merging them into walls. Also I have been using teleporters but I'll man cannons. Ive been trying to form a boundry on foundry so it is just one big rectangle area but they never go into the wall.
This thread was EXTREMELY helpful to me when learning how to perfect geomerging. May it help you too.
Flipping them onto their sides, (so that what would usually be the bottom is now facing away from the map) makes merging them a lot easier, but bracing a little harder. I've never had problems with teleporters when merging them, as long as the box is fully braced, even when merging into the back hall. Also make sure you are saving and quitting. When you're ready to geomerge, grab the object, hit start, save, quit, rinse, repeat. Due to a glitch in the halo 3 save system the object will keep the same rotational values as when you grabbed it, meaning it will stay straight and only change in position.
Oh that's nice, thanks for the help Heat. And one more thing, do you know how to spawn teleporters under foundry?
No I don't use that method of geomerging, as far as I was aware there was no trick to it. If you're trying to use the teleporter as a brace while geomerging outside of foundry try using a larger object instead like a wall or box, just because it's harder to line up a teleporter with your object than it is a double wall or box.
