    Oasis
Map made by Mearm and Parune.
    Gametypes: Slayer, CTF, Assault.
    Recommended Players: 4-12

    Introduction
I haven't posted on Forgehub in a long time, and now that Sandbox is out, I think this is the best time to get back into forging. As for the map, Oasis is medium sized, and as such, you can find many mid to long range weapons on this map. Oasis is made up mainly of two bases, a center structure, and two pathways around the center structure. There are also little pathways between the center structure and outer pathways, so make use of them in game to get quickly from one area to another. This map is normally played with the Juicy FX on, but for the overview shots I turned it off so you could see the map clearly. The action shots will have the FX on. This will be much easier to understand as you see the pictures.

    Weapons
8 Battle Rifles, 45 second respawn, 2 extra clips.
1 Shotgun, 120 second respawn, 1 extra clip.
1 Sniper, 120 second respawn, 2 extra clips.
4 Spikers, 45 second respawn, 2 extra clips.
2 Plasma Pistols, 30 second respawn.
1 Needler, 45 second respawn, 2 extra clips.
1 Brute Shot, 90 second respawn, 2 extra clips.
2 Maulers, 60 second respawn, 1 extra clip.
1 Gravity Hammer, 150 second respawn.

    Equipment
4 Frag Grenades, 20 second respawn.
6 Plasma Grenades, 20 second respawn.
1 Bubble Shield, 90 second respawn.
1 Power Drain, 90 second respawn.
    2 Regenerators, 90 second respawn.
1 Trip Mine, 90 second respawn.
1 Deployable Cover, 90 second respawn.

    Overview Pictures

This is Red Team's base. It is a little smaller than Blue Team's base, but it is easy to defend and there are only a couple ways in to gaurd. The object of importance in this picture is the pallet bridge. This is a tactical location, as it has a 60 second respawn, so you can decide to either destroy it, removing access by both teams, or you can keep it. If you keep it, you can easily get to the center structure from the base, but so can the enemy team.
This is Blue Team's base. It is larger and more built, but has less cover, and is easier to flank and sneak up on. It also has more entrances than Red Base. There is another destroyable objective like at Red Base, but this time, it is not near the base. There is a grav lift on part of the center structure, and it has the same 60 second respawn as the pallets. The tactical use of the grav lift is you can easily get to high ground above Red Base. This comes into play mainly on CTF. If your enemy grabs your flag, they can escape much more quickly and safely by using the grav lift, but if you destroy it, you can't use it either.

This is one of the side pathways from base to base. This one is more easily accessed by Red Team. Red Team is closer to the high ground, and the sniper, making this a good sniping location. The problem; there is very little cover in the area, so you can be shot at from almost all of Blue Base.

The other pathway is almost the complete opposite. There is much cover, a shotgun, and you can easily access it from Blue Base, as it is attatched to the top of Blue Base. This side is also less built, and has less extra structures in the area to use, making fighting here very straightforward. Literally.

The last of the overview shots is of the center structure, mainly the gravity hammer spawn. The gravity hammer is a dangerous weapon on this map, as it has the capability to fling anyone clean off of the map. The downside to this weapon is that it is only close quarters. You can easily dispatch anyone with the gravity hammer by staying away and using a medium or long range weapon to take them out.

    Action Pictures

A trip mine can ambush anybody who crosses the pallet bridge, and send them falling to their demise.

A neat little trick I found near Blue Base, a battle rifle or sniper on this ledge will be very useful.

A regenerator won't save you from the onslaught of the needler.

Charging with a shotgun may result in permanent scarring, dismemberment, or in severe cases, death.

The gravity hammer is extremely useful on small ledges or other areas that you can easily knock someone off the platform. Just make sure you dont knock yourself off in the process.

    Conclusion
I think that this map turned out pretty good. I had my doubts about it, but it turned out good anyway. Parune and I had alot of fun making and testing (sort of) this map. We did not get to test it out many times, so if you get a party together and play it, please tell us if there is anything we should change so we can fix any problems with the map. Comments and constructive criticism is appreciated. Have fun! (Try not to constantly fall off.)

Looks like a win. The aesthetics are pleasent, although you sure could have merged lots of it, I've never seen the golf holes being used as actual ground, it's unique. There are lots of little tricks that are hidden in the gameplay I see, and at least you didn't go overboard with the weapons.
4/5, try making it a bit neater maybe.

Actually I used the idea for upside-down golf holes from another map that i saw on here that I really liked. As for the neatness, I realize i didn't interlock everything. I didn't think i needed to. Any suggestioins on what aesthetics i should interlock together?

This is spam. Please tell me what you like about the map if you're going to say that you like it.

Unfortunately you need a new map name or somthing Oasis is already being used as for the maps you should make the tin cups so that i can not see the flags underneath it would improve the look its a pretty good mao but it needs a name change.

Oasis will be a pretty common name on a sandy map like this, so I'm not the only person who will be using the name. I did see your oasis map today, but this was after I had come up with the name and posted it.

As for the tin cups, I know you can see them, and I will probably make the next map I use the tin cup grass method on so that you cannot see the flags underneath.

I never though someone like you could exist on forgehub, good job.

As for the map it was actually fun to work on exept for everytime I wanted to place a good, level, floating wall I had to use a bunch of stone bridges and line it up just right. Im glad this map didn't turn out like all the other skybubble maps (or atleast 90% of them) where there are a bunch of walls lined up like stepping stones with a crap load of gravity hammers. If we were to fix this map up, say cover up the flags and get rid of the "Ouch I stubbed my toe, even though im in mjlonier armor"'s and the walls and blocks that are crooked, I would give this map a 5 out of 5 instead of a 4.7 out of 5 (I classify aesthetics and minor things as fractions).

If anyone has any suggestions on how to cover up the flags for the tin cups when they are in no-man's land between the skybubble and the middle floor, it would be much appreciated.

Crooked blocks? Hmm... Anyway, we hit the Object Limit so we are going to be in a bit of a bind if you want to cover up the flags.

Awesome. Loved how you used golf holes as grass.
