I have recently been thinking about making a machinima. I don't own a capture card, but if I really make the machinima, I might buy one. Or get someone to film for me (not likely). It will be about a man who is in the military and is fighting in a war against societys rebeling against the government. Then, suddenly, a new threat appears (elites) and he and his squadron have to fight against the aliens in a massive war. I will have the aliens create bases and things of that nature that the soldier will assualt, infiltrate, and destroy. Kinda like a SWAT team. I will also have huge battles. I have studied machinima tricks and such so I should be able to manage good camera effects. I will also make the plotline dramatic, action packed, and suspensful to keep viewers begging for more. I will most likely make it a bi-weekly thing. One episode every other week. I will probably need to get permission from many forgers from forgehub to use their maps in my machinima. I will be able to make most of the stuff because I'm good at forging (not to brag).I will have it start of with him coming down on the side of a hornet on the landing pad on Val's map Landing Pad. He will meet with a man in white armor (the general). The general will brief him as they walk through the halls of orbital on an alien ship crashing into a freighter ship. The military had retrieved the wounded alien and put it in a concealed room to study it. It multiplied quickly and the aliens started to escape the room. The soldier was sent to the lab to stop the aliens from escaping. He was sent with his team of 4 to stop the aliens. He gets to the destroyed lab and finds the aliens to be gone. The lights go out. He tells the general via radio and starts to leave with his team. They find the aliens blocking the exit and have to fight their way out. The aliens overpower them and they have to find another way out of the lab. That's the end of the first episode. I will probably put the lab in cold storage. I would love your suggestions on what should happen in the plotline of the machinima. I also need a title. Please help with ideas.
I didn't read all of it, the text was too hard to read. But the main reason I did not read on was because it provided no interest to me. From what I've read, SWAT team are super cool guys, who blow **** up and walk through the flaming mushroom clouds. It's been done, it's cliche, it just does not to be seen again. There is more to Halo Machinima than heart pounding action, and there is more drama in the world in relation to violence than death of a comrade. Story aside, studying film will not help you. You have to feel it, you have to know it, and just shooting a machinima textbook style will not achieve amazing results. While it may help, it can only improve your work so much if you have no talent or experience. Before you take on such a big project, invest time in making smaller projects, to get a feel for what this is like. Maybe then you can see whether or not you are ready to commit yourself to such a project.
