nope no shotgun room i'm afraid. I closed the hole that led to the shotgun room because it is not there, and people kept falling in it. Haha um what? I've never seen a lockout remake on FH in my life! But i remade this because i loved lockout, and blackout just wasn't the same for me. So now i can't complain about it! Well first off, let me assure you that I used every possible item in making this map. I would not be able to add any more of those structures. But let me explain something because of your interest in the ledges above the doors. I knew that they were important and i used them quite often myself. But you can pull off all the same old tricks on this map by using the side ledges. If you jump up on the side railings, you will be able to reach the second level of sniper tower etc. I'm glad you notice and appreciate the accuracy of this map, as do most other people. And you're right, i think penguin assassin mentioned that he had not seen lockout before. And thats why i really appreciate your comments The mancannon works much better for one sided games. It works well for slayer, but it truly shines in oddball, neutral bomb, etc. And yes, this is a remake/altered lockout. glad you noticed...
well, at least we can try to get it featured, i played a few slayer games and a couple of juggernaut games on this, the juggernaut was really fun, but there are a lot of stickies on this map that respawn really fast.
I managed to play a 3v3 game on it yesterday. My only gripe is that the swords a little overpowered. I think that it would work if you covered the area leading to man cannon so you can't jump from middle, and added a shot gun with 1 or 0 clips. That would make it less competitive, like the banshee did. But make it more ( is it lockouty? lockoutish? lockoutrific?) Your call, sense i don't know what the goal of this map is. I still miss the banshee, but it's so more competitive but less fun, so idk if that was a good choice. I did play on lockout this weekend, did you go and find out all the spawn points on lockout, then transfered them? They were that similar. Since lockout is like a circle that all the places are connected, taking out 1/4 of it kind of ruined avoiding middle, like you did on lockout. This forces you to use lower and upper middle more then you did before. So maybe remake elbow in someway? I'll try and find some things not necessary so the OLN isn't a problem. Graded as a lockout remake it's a 4/5. But if I didn't know what lockout is at all and graded it as just a map, it's a 5/5. I'm not going to speand 5 minutes going into detail about how great everything is, it's awesome you get a tub full of epic win sauce. 5 suicide sticks to the sword guy, out of 5
The review just may have been worth the wait, thanks penguin! I agree with everything you had to say ^.^ And yes, i transferred the exact spawn points, thanks for noticing! With the new maps released today, Locked Out gained 600 downloads today alone. I was impressed and pleased to see that everyone actually book marked the maps like they had said! I have continued to play more amazing games on Locked Out. One that plays well on this map without fail is juggernaut, a gametype that has been slightly forgotten over the years. SMG-start slayer, 6 players, perfect. So for those of you with the new maps, i encourage you to give Locked Out a go! And, as always, feel free to send me an invite =)
Hmmm juggernaut, never thought of that. Usualy thats the first gametype i try I'm going to hold you up to that invite thing.
I agree, but i'll make something even better for the contest! Yep i definitely recommend jugguernaut. I have only played it with standard jug but the score only goes to ten which ends pretty quickly. So i suggest raising the score limit to at least 15, preferably 20... Well i put sticky grenades in the exact locations as they were in the original lockout. Because we can only hold two plasmas at once now, I only placed pairs of two in those locations. The plasma grenades were pretty important so i made sure they were equally as important on my map. And they respawn just as fast as they did in the original, i checked ^.^ ...and i just recently discovered that Locked Out has made its way to the first page of Bungie's most downloaded Sandbox maps, with nearly 2000 downloads! And Locked Out v2, at almost 600 downloads, is now on the third page... Just something i'm a bit proud of...
congrats on that, Gunner, but maybe you could add a little bit of respawn time to the nades, they play an important factor, almost a too important factor, if you know what i mean.
I second lightsout, i finally downloaded sandbox and this was the first map I loaded up other the the default. Putting a shotty or mauler would recreate the fact that people who wanted to get the shotty in the real lock out got forced to down to that part of the map, and although it doesnt put you in that same trapped long tunnel, it would make you expoesed, making it a risk to go out on great map though, we'll see how it fairs in the remake compotition
Nice map. The best types of maps are ones with more than 1 level of gameplay. best lockout remake i've seen yet.
This is a truly amazing map. However, unfortunately it looks almost unfinished without anything leading from mancannon to S1. There isn't even a building left where the grav lift used to be. I won't take this as a final version, but please add something to the mancannon area. It just doesn't look good, and almost ruins how good the map looks to me. Other than that, the map is fantastic, don't get me wrong.
Sorry friend, but you will indeed have to accept this as the final version! As i stated in the description, i hit the OLN before the map was complete. So i got creative and added a mancannon that lauches players to one of the three main sections of the map, top middle, sniper tower, or br tower. I'm glad you appreciate the rest of the map, but i encourage you to view the map as a whole, finished piece. Oh, and Locked Out is nearing 3000 dl's while the v2 trails behind at nearly 1000. I'm not sure if this means the v2 is less popular, or people just didnt like it enough the first time to try the v2. But either way, i'm more than happy with those numbers!
