Map Title: LOWER LEVEL A remake of the Basement From Goldeneye Download Lower Level Description: Using a layout map of Basement from Goldeneye I recreated it on Foundry. Picture 1 shows the room that is setup as the Defensive Base for Team Games. Picture 2 shows the back hallway, the rooms are closed off and the middle two doors are closed. Picture 3 shows the largest room in the map. This room has a few weapons and a regenerator. Picture 4 shows the room set as the Attacking Base for Team Games. It also has access to a "VentShaft"(picture 5) that leads to the the Hallway in picture's 7 and 8. Picture 6 shows the main hallway. Halfway down and to the right is another hall that leads to the Vent exit(shown in pic7). The final picture shows the last room which is near the defensive base. Best for Free for All or Team Slayer, but set up for all Game Variants.
Re: Remake of Basment From Goldeneye Have you tried interlocking? Its a real easy technique that makes maps 10x better. Also why dont you use 2 wire spools instead of 1, there is room to put 2. It would make that room a whole lot neater.
Re: Remake of Basment From Goldeneye I dont remember this map but from what I can tell from the pics you have is it looks sloppy you should use interlocking it makes your map fit together nicely if you don't know how to do this visit this page And I can see you placed fire bombs on the map this is generally a bad idea because while Fie Bombs can be fun they are way too overpowering. Good luck with all your future maps.
Re: Remake of Basment From Goldeneye I thought about that, but it is not a concern of mine. I made the framework for this about a week after Foundry released. Interlocking wasn't very known yet. I don't have the time or the patience to redo them. Also I personally think too much time is spent on how amazing they are than how fun they are to play. The resources are maxed out, can't place 2. Plus I'd have to use weapon holders/receiver nodes to lock them in. I didn't make this to look pretty, I made it to be fun to play. Yes, I am very aware of interlocking. I had that concern also, but after several play tests they played out fine.
Re: Remake of Basment From Goldeneye I always like a good 007 remake. and I also agree that you don't need to interlock every single thing on a map to make it play well.
Re: Remake of Basment From Goldeneye looks good but i would have added weapon holders or tele nodes to hold the crates an wire spools in place might download it an try it
Re: Remake of Basment From Goldeneye u should lock ur boxs in place with a tele so they don't blow away
Re: Remake of Basment From Goldeneye If the boxes moving is that much of concern. Any suggestions what should be removed? The Limits are nearly met.
Hey. Looks pretty goods, but they're right, interlocking just gets people to not complain at you and also makes your maps look more professional and more people will download them! I've been remaking GoldenEye maps like its my job. I just finished Stack (which i think this is top part to "basement" but i can't remember) Anyway, if you like this map, you should like mine. I'v also completed my remake of the Facility, gotten a lot of compliments for my accuracy and attention to detail. These maps are from an old game but still play VERY well. If anyone wants to ever have a Goldeneye fest on Halo 3 let me know, it'd be a fun throwback
I am gonna download this for sure! I love goldeneye and this looks pretty good. Does anybody have a remake of Complex? - that was my favourite map.
yea, i found a remake of complex, its called complex rerun i believe. I'm going to include it in my GoldenEye Map pack. I didn't do complex, someone else did, and although it is close i have a lot of complaints. Unfortunately i don't have it on my fileshare, so you will have to hunt it down untill my map pack is done. so far i have: Facility (see link below) my creation Stack my creation Complex someone else made this but i'll include To be done: Bunker (maybe not enough room in foundry) Temple (maybe not enough room in foundry) I've also seen remake of the Archives that looked pretty good that i will probably include. Otherwise, i think these are all of the maps that could be remade given the limited space and object budget in foundry. Maybe Cradle, but i didn't like that map much.
