My first map on ForgeHub, hope you like. Claustrophobic Click Here to Download Claustrophobic is a large, fun, symmetrical map that was created by Smileetus and OG ShankSinatra. Claustrophobic was made to play with the Slayer, Oddball, and King of the Hill variants. Weapons have been carefully placed in key areas of the map, this way there won't be too many weapons, but enough so you won't need to look far to find one. Respawns are mostly set in pairs of two, so Team Doubles is also a game vairent fit for Claustrophobic. 2 Mongeese are located on both the far left and right sides of the map, a bit behind the Alter. These are useful for getting to a power weapon early on in the game, or just driving it around the map for fun. The Mongoose is great for this map, it has breathing room to roam around, and get to most areas of the map without much difficulty. It helps to stay on the higher parts of the map to avoid nasty surprises. Also, you may find that the Plasma Grenade count is higher then it says below, i already know that. One of my friends stashed away loads of grenades behind my back and I could never find them. Your pics are not working. Follow link below to find out how. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-forge-maps/18644-embed-screenshots-your-map-thread.html But your description is good you have 24 hours before this get locked. Edit: Pics are now working The map is well forged, it certainly makes good use of interlocks and uses the entirety of foundry. Perhaps you might want to go a bit easier on the grenades and equipment, i personally don't think you need that many. the layout is alright, bu there is nothing that catches my eye, it's just boxes. You want your artistry to come forth here and turn those boxes into something amazing. Really its and aesthetic/layout problem, but more aesthetic.
Ok I personally think it looks pretty good. But for some reason it looks bare. I would like to see more pictures of the back areas, and maybe some pictures of the weapon spawns. And I can't really tell how the mongoose would affect gameplay. I would probably give it a 4/5 from the pics. EDIT: And I don't really know who gave it a one star rating but it definitely deserves more than that. Don't worry about it.
Thanks for your input guys. I am getting much more good comments then I would have expected. Lefty0904: I see what you mean, and I could give some more info relating to the mongoose in the description. I will start doing that now
Well there isnt anything here that catches my eye but I must say, 32 grenades is ridiculous. I would never use more than 2 types of grenades and then I wouldnt use more than 10 of each. Also, I would cut down the amount of equipment you used here. One more thing, 3 maulers PLUS a Shotgun? that seems kinda crazy. I also wouldnt DL this until you post the respawn rates of the weapons on the weapon list, cuz if you didnt change them, all the weapons respawn at 30 seconds, and that is very bad. The shotgun and maulers is already too much but if they spawn that fast its really bad. Sorry if I sound too negative, I just tell people what they could do to make their maps better (in my opinion).
One pic that you should always include....an overview! You pics are well taken but...I can't tell how the map connects. All of your pics are of fine details and not something general. "I know where the mongoose is, now I just need to find the open box!" See what I mean? I'm not good with puzzles . Oh and go easy on the weapons. 2 bubble shields? 2 Trip mines? 32 grenades? Having less weapons on a map is generally better because it forces players to find weapons and not just happen to "step on them." This isn't bad for a first map. Keep it up.
Yes, there is 2 Trip Mines and 2 Bubble Shields. Rat's Nest has 2 Trip Mines. But anyways, I can see why 32 grenades is a lot, but it is kinda hard not to have 2 of at least one item on a symmetrical map. But anyways, thanks for the input, it helps me decide what to put in my next map
