While in forge i've noticed that sometimes after interlocking an object i and retuning later to modify it i can't grab the object it was interlocked with. Has any one else had this problem or know how to resolve? right now i have a door hanging out in the middle of my map that wont go away. Thanks in advance
That usually has to do with the fact that it's not set to spawn at start. But forge glitches everything into play on a new load anyway. So even though it's 'there,' it's not really 'there.' Try starting a new round, then wait for it to reappear (or auto-spawn it). Voila, you should now be able to do with it what you wish.
To clarify: When you start a new forge session the game will try to spawn everything from the start. Things set to not spawn at start will appear but you won't be able to pick them up. Start a new round and wait 30 seconds (or whatever its respawn is) and it'll be fine. I really hate this actually... it's probably my biggest annoyance with forge. With the map I'm currently working on everything is floating and interlocked so I waste so much time starting a new round and waiting 30 seconds for everything to spawn. I assume bungie made it this way to stop being thinking "omfg whur my boxes gon they disapuuredd???", ah well.
If that's the case, set the minimum spawn limit to the max for the item you wish for this not to happen to when you're building, and lower it back when you're done. That way, you don't have to wait on them in Forge, but you don't have to go and reset all of the objects' spawn settings.
Yeah.. but I have to save and quit a lot... just for things like nudging a box a few millimetres. It get tedious enough as it is now, without going through the menus to insta-spawn things to save maybe 10 seconds?
The objects being there at the beginning of a Forge session is not a glitch. The reason this happens is so you will know all of what you have placed on your map (in case you forgot). Just start a new round like everyone else has said and you'll be back in business.
the man speaketh thine truth. Its not that irritating though ... people must just be super impatient.
From my experience, the items that appear and don't appear is random (i.e. the items that this glitch affects). I have a wall of double boxes that this happens to on one of my maps, and every time different boxes appear and disappear when I load it up. The problem is solved when I start a new round and force-spawn them back. I learned of this glitch (and how to remedy it) from trial and error. --dc
For me, to correct this problem, i usually just have to switch to another game type ( not all gametypes ) if i switch to like Slayer then it fixes the problem
OK, I'm pretty sure the question has been sufficiently answered. Do I have the authority to ask for locks now?
