Im am desprate for some name ideas for a map i am making in the sky bubble of sandbox. it is a cross between gariden, The pit, and Construct. mainly construct but it has features of the other. only the rough draft is done but the map will be finished 4/23/09 so i hope all of you will enjoy. Thanks!
Pictures would really help me name the map, also, some good ideas to put in mind while naming it... 1) Never do something completely simple. Some maps do have a simple name but "Arena" is a horrible name for a map. 2) The name should represent the map. Try not to name it completely random or too descriptive. Random would be "Epic pownage" and toodescriptive would be "Survive the Zombies" 3) Be original. Trust me, no one likes it if you take their name of a map. As for naming the map, I would have to say... Pitfall! If there are several floors to this map and if it resembles the pit, well it like peanut butter and jelly.
Well, what i do for my maps is to think of what the map is about and what are the major features. If it help you can look up complicated and latin versions of the words that describe your map and use those and if you feel it necessary, mix them up so they sound good.For example water = hydro = aqua Also using words like "epic pwnage" and such make it sound like master chief from Arby n' chief named the map. Guardian is also right about being to descriptive and namestealing.
Definately upload some pics!!! That way we can get an idea of what your map should be called. And by the way, I have never heard of a map called gariden!!! LOLZ! Maybe Some Possibilities:They all have a meaning BTW Epimorphic Ante-mortem Dactyl Ethenal Just Made These Up You don't have to use these though
To keep with the "theme" of your name you should name your map after a Pixies song -Caribou -Velouria -Into the White

Ah, I go through a bunch of names in my head before I finally decide. I know the pain. I like simple one or two word names that are somehow related to the map you made. If you can somehow find a name that relates elements of the map structure itself and the particular kind of gameplay it's intended for (if you made a map like that), that would be great. I don't recommend just opening up a dictionary and trying to find a cool word. Meaningful is good.
