Extremely helpful, and it was a jump start for my GIMP career. One thing tough. If I want to move the stock around, with out manipulating the text, or other layers, how would I got about doing so. Thanks.

I've done that, but it also carries the text with it. I'm probably doing something wrong, I'll check back to it later. Thanks.

You must open up the Layers window, then right click the specified layer. It's on the near bottom.

I saw this before you posted it, and even though I use Photoshop, it helped me make my Empire sig.

I used the technique for the text and splatter effects around the text.

whenever i paste the stock in I can't see it. Anyone know how to fix that?

    edit:

And when you said move over to the stock layer which should now be above the text layer already above the text layer?

eguitarplaya, thats pretty sick. Nice job. It seems that some of the top and bottom edges were cut short. Next time that you do do the autocrop, make sure your selecting the text layer. I didn't figure that one out until a little while ago.
    ______________

How are you pasting the stock (describe your process). You should just paste it on a new layer and either anchor this new selection or make it a new layer that is sized according to the size of the pasted content.

And it says that the stock layer should be above the text layer.
    ______________

Oh yeah, and thanks for the COMMENTS and FAVES on deviantART!
