Just a question I though of while watching the Halo 3 cut scenes. Where is Forward Unto Dawn between its landing in The Ark and its re-appearance in Halo?
Hmm...it might still be where it was in the ark...or it could have gone into orbit after defeating the covenant fleet.
I would say it went back into orbit because when i went back in theater to look at this for the name of the ship (couldnt remember at the time) I was watching the ship over the hill between where it lands and where sparks opens the door for you and once your inside the building it just simply disappears lol. I mean would it have been that hard to make it go back up into orbit? But ya my best guesse would be it went back into orbit because it surely didnt stay where it was.
The Forward Unto Dawn retreats from the Ark after being run through by a stray Flood pod, due to heavy damages sustained. It is presumed that the ship remains in the vicinity due to the fact that the remaining marines and Elites use it to return to earth through the portal prior to the firing of Installation 04.1. Presumably, it leaves once the immediate threat of galactic genocide is averted.
Holy Crap. Such an old thread. That wasn't Forward Unto Dawn. That was the Elite carrier Shadow of Intent
I didn't even know Fastforward was still around. Gracious. FUD apparently went back up into orbit after the Covenant (BADBADBAD) Fleet was defeated by the Human-Covenant (GOODGOODGOOD) combined forces. Then when MC and Arbie decided to do the Halo thing, all the Human/Covenant (GOODGOODGOOD) forces (except for Sarge) still on the FUD evacuated onto the other Human-Covenant (GOODGOODGOOD) ships that went through the portal. Then Sarge takes the FUD down to Halo 04 (2). Which leads to an interesting question. If one guy can pilot a whole ****ing space ship, how come the ship cabins are filled with 20 useless pilots?
I wish we had the dunce hat smiley here... But yeah. My guess for the Forward Unto Dawn would be that it stayed landed where it was until Johnson pilots it to the end-point on Installation 04.1. And technically, only one person is needed to man the nav station to move the ship. One person can pilot it, but they won't be able to fire weapons or adequately monitor engine status or anything else that the ships can do.
Oh yes, I'm still here don't post much anymore though. So it seems either FUD (thanks Nemi) went back into orbit or stayed where it was. Both make sense. Probably won't ever know for sure unless Bungie says something about it.
