    Introduction

Hello and welcome to my 4th released map. Curvature. My skills have come a long way since i first released Steelworks and Firing Line, and so has my creativity. In this map i have decided to do something different. Instead of creating repetative square rooms. I have gone for something completely new, something that is rare for a Competative map. I have built an entire map on a curve. This wasnt so much of a test as my forging skills as it was to my visualisation. I had to plan everything in my head, and make sure that everything would join up neatly and nicely so it was aesthetically pleasing. Saying that, i really do think i accomplished that. This map is 100% interlocked, and every wall and box is as perfect as i could possibly make it. I hope you guys enjoy playing it as much as i did making it.

    Description

The main shape of this map is alot like an oval. But instead, one of the edges meets at a right angle, causing a large curve on the opposite side. This idea was hard to pull off while also keeping it aesthetically pleasing, and making sure it was fair and balanced.

I have added a large mix of open ground and cover. There is quite a large range of weaponry. I wanted to expand it further, but the lack of seperate areas in this map didnt allow me to do so with the effect i would of hoped. I think the weapons and equipment i have placed will be sufficient.

This map supports all gametypes. Although i do not think it will be as effective for CTF and Assault variants. I think the shape of the map will not allow for such diverse strategy. I recommend playing it, but i think most players will prefer the less organised matches of Odball and KotH.

Many successful ideas from this map will most probably end up going into my next map, which i hope to support vehicles, and have a vast range of weapony and equipment.

Thanks for your time guys. Like on all of my map threads, please dont be afraid to be as critical as you like, the more information you provide the easier it is for me to make my maps better and more to your tastes.

Special thanks to ferrari504 for helping me with the early stages. He is a very good forger. I recommend him to anyone needing a forge partner.

    Thanks ForgeHub.

Another amazing piece of work from Matty, then? I've been looking forward to this since I heard you mention it in Aeron, and I'm glad it's finally out. I'll edit my post here with some details.

EDIT: KOTH: After playing this round with you, I was disappointed, frankly. I'm sure the lag of the game is distorting my opinion, but this just wasn't fun at all. I made myself quit after 3 hills of dying outta nowhere.

interesting...wasnt what i had in mind when you were speaking of it earlier, but ill definitely check it out when i get home tonight and get back to ya. From the first impressions, im not quite as impressed as i was for aeron, but then again thats just a pre-judgment, so its not really fair at this point. in short...ill be back.

The images dont do the map justice as they did with Aeron. I recommend taking a forge through of the map to check it out properly. Its a difficult shape to visualise from the images.

Would that be more of a "tear drop" shape? It looks cool, and I love anything that isn't boxy.

Agreed. This definetely looks like a great map to play on. I also like how you used fence walls to make "windows" with the barrels and scenery behind/below them. (i thought i was the only one who did that!) It makes the map asthetically pleasing, which is just as important as how well it plays. Definetely DLing.

In a way, but it would be more of a 'fat' teardrop, it will all come clear when you see it. I cant get a full image of the map because there are alot of objects in the way.

This map looks very original. I like the aesthetic touches you added here and there. I'm looking forward to playing a game on this map.

I do it alot, its just that i usually run out of items before i hit the small scenery stage.

I think aestheticity it just as important balance and smoothness. If a map isnt interesting then what reason is there to be interested.

well, if you call a double frag jump easy to do when you are getting shot then you must be a magician. But i thought i was doing FH and myself a favor by trying something more difficult.. o well.

ok i have checked it out in forge and here is what i have found. the layout of this map is SWEET and you have constructed it really well except for a few areas. the weapon placement is generally fair except for the shotgun which seems a bit one sided and yea i found it easy to get out of the map although i'm not sue it can be accomplished during gameplay. the scenery of this map is awsome i love the barrels inbetween the fencewalls along the main curve the only real problem i have with this map is the side area with the crates and the shotgun, it's a bit too open and kinda kills the feel of the map, if you could find some way to fix that this would be a great map

A single frag jump gets you up, and I didnt say it was bad, I said I did not like it and that I though Aeron was better.
