So today marked the start to one of the most wonderful times of the year, sports-wise (2nd only to the Super Bowl). March Madness's first round games began today. For those who may live across the sea and perhaps aren't familiar with March Madness, its the NCAA Basketball Tournament where the top 64 teams (65 teams if you count the play-in game) duke it out for a few weeks in a enormous single elimination bracket. Im sure there's a decent amount of you who have a bracket in some form or another, whether it be in a pool with co-workers, classmates, or at a website such as ESPN, Yahoo, CBS Sports, etc. Post your bracket here and compare with others. Discuss results, upsets, predictions, disappointments, etc. This thread will be moderated, so please try to stay on topic. I'll start with my own bracket: In almost an entire decade of doing brackets, I've never done as well on the first day as I did today.. a perfect 16 for 16! To put that into perspective a bit.. ESPN had about 5 million bracket entries in total.. only about 250,000 are still perfect brackets. That's about one half of one single percent still with a perfect bracket. I'll admit I'm not a collegiate bball guru, and there was definitely some guessing involved, but intelligent guesses none-the-less. Needless to say, Im excited. I successfully picked all 4 upsets today.. though I expect tomorrow to go much worse lol. I definitely have UNC going all the way, same as I have picked the past 6 years. Its their time So now I wanna see YOUR bracket. Post it here and discuss!
Yea man,I don't have one on the internet but I did make one on paper. In my Final four i had Louisville, I live in kentucky, lol, UNC, Duke, and Memphis. Then i had memphis and UNC in the final game and then I had UNC winning it all
I have a perfect bracket except I did not see the Maryland-California upset coming. I'll get my bracket up in a bit hopefully... Final Four: Louisville UNC Duke Memphis
I also went 16 for 16 on the first day. I would post my bracket, but I'm hopelessly inept. I have 12 teams of the Sweet 16 left, and 8 of the Elite 8. My Final Four is Duke, UNC, Purdue, and Michigan State. I have MSU winning it all against UNC. Go State!
Update on my bracket of awesome. I didn't do as hot on day 2 as I did on day 1, but still did alright. Overall in round 1 I went 27/32. Then in round 2 I did a bit better even, going 14/16 (and one of those games I had already lost int eh first round because FSU got beat). So I still have 14 of my sweet 16 in tack, only losing FSU and UCLA. There were some CRAZY games in round 2.. I cant wait for sweet 16! I've never done this well before
I'm in a pool with some of my friends and I'm fourth out of 25ish people. I can't remember my exact bracket but I had Kansas vs. UNC in the championship game with UNC winning.
...knew I shoulda copied you. Anyway, I'm in a 8 player pick'em with $5 in from everyone, so I got big money ($40, lol) I could win from this, theoretically. I chose what I know of NCAA, but I'm not usually really paying attention when I watch. Chose a few upsets, but for the most part normal. At the moment, I'm in second place 1 point behind.
I think Louisville just ruined my awesome. Yep, they did. Ah well, I did have a pretty damn good bracket till the end
I got two of the final four right... Uconn and UNC. I had Kansas in the Midwest and I don't even want to talk about the east. I have UNC winning so I still have a chance. And I had Kansas beating UConn for the Championship game but that's not going to happen. But with the way Michigan State and Villanova played, we're going to be in for some really good games in the final four.
Gah got here too late. Anyways I had Uconn and UNC (Tyler Hansbrough FTW) goin all the way fo sho, but they are the only teams I even got close on... Anyhow I got PSU winnin the NIT (National Invitational Tournament / Not Important Tournament) just to show that they should have atleast been entered in the big dance. I mean c'mon. They beat Michigan State (who are in the Final Four) and they beat Illinois and Wisconsin who I believe were both in the tournament.
i had louisville, UNC, Memphis, and Villanova in my Final Four.. So im half right.. I had Louisville beating UNC (only because louisville's team is completely stacked) in the final game but i guess thats history so.. Plus im sort of a UNC fan (have been all my life, i didnt jump on any bandwagons) so im cheering for them..
I gotta hand it to the Spartans, they played very well. I cant wait for the UNC game to start. and Monday is going to be insane. This is one of the better MM's we've had in a couple years IMO
