Inertia Another Forerunner mystery Click here to download now! Description: Notice! The map is darker then the screen shots below! Must download for true lighting effect. It is by far not easy to control this map by the sniper, and the distance makes it tough to BR across map unless you have near to amazing accuracy. The map uses the entire length of the sky bubble, one of the first to do so. The map is perfectly symmetrical from red base all the way across to blue base, from weapons, spawns, structures, etc. The map layout was created for mainly CTF, but could easily be used in a team slayer game type as well (the supported game types you can find below). Each base supports an inside, a garage, and a top with a banshee pad, which is easily accessible from the back, you can see this in the screen shots below. Along with two symmetrical bases, the middle is a very unique structure it self, built to look like a structure holding some giant radiating source of some unknown power... yet if you were to touch it, you'd be incinerated. The weapon, vehicle, and equipment layout is very casual for any large map, as you'll notice when you play (Weapon, vehicle, and equipment information below). In the screen shots you'll see the extremely long but narrow bridge, large enough to fit two mongooses side to side, or just one hog. You may criticize me for this, but hold on... let me explain. The idea for making this so narrow was for competitive game play. How would it feel to have to play chicken with your opposing team? To have to knock them right off this lengthy bridge in order to pass by them... a very interesting concept. Along with the narrowness of the bridge, I purposely made it a tad bumpy. Not noticeable in the screen shots this narrow rigid surface embeds even more competitive game play, as a decent placed grenade could send you and your team mates in that hog of yours right off the edge in a second. The map also has Gloomy placed on it to fit the scenario. I figured since the map was built in the sky, and the map's time of day is obviously set at dusk I figured the map should be darker, to fit the scene. You'll notice that gloomy fits the maps perspective better anyway. I think snipers could easily take control of the walkway between the two bases, though the banshee's are a nice touch. The bases look small, and a majority of the base looks like tubes to get from one floor to another. It's not bad, I played it with some friends like we always do when we're bored, but the problem is the lack of movement available. It's like it was intended to be a sniping map. It has a nice aesthetic touch to it, with the middle point but other than that, I give it a 7 out of 10. ☼
nice. the bases are awesome, i just don't know if there is enough cover on the bridges. have you tested it? 3/5, but feel free to try and change my mind.
Believe me, the map is darker then those screen shots pose. It is rather harder to snipe and shoot across then you think. Yep I've tested it with a group of friends, we all thought it was quite good game play.
I love the use of gloomy to make it impossible to snipe, its pretty original in my terms. I like it, theres nothing else i can really say but I like it! It looks simplistic and entertaining. I love the way you used the kill ball also, though the only thing i don't think I like is how far it streches out... the entire skybubble? anyway, keep it up, looks good.
Thanks, that was the whole idea. People above you thought the sniper could easily take over the map, obviously they did not download it. The gloomy effect up in the bubble really make it hard to actually snipe. Thanks for the comment
