Although the can really turn around the infantry game early on flamethrowers are vulnerable to nearly everything and during the late gameplay they don't do squat. I know i stressed this earlier but I have to tell you my experience. As soon as the game started as the arbiter I built many ware houses and a temple. I then proceeded to upgrade to age of reclamation and the blinding blades tech. Next upgrade to fully invisibility. I then built many wraiths and sent them all to the prophet of regret. However my enemy already had like 15 locust coming my way. (Fully upgraded too) I thought I was dead but I was surprised when my arbiter was the only unit left standing. I was in rage mode. Turns out that I was so powerful and i was committing enough fatalities so that any health I lost got restored. i then set like 20 wraiths to spawn and head to the enemy base while my arbiter tore the locusts apart. By the time I was done I had about half health.

Another experience with the Prophet of Regret. i had my cannons and glassing beam all maxed out and I was sending my prophet and a bunch of Locusts and wraiths to attack sergeant forge. But they already had 9 grizzlies and a few locusts from their arbiter mixed in. I thought i was doomed. I immediately revved up my glassing beam and hovered it over the grizzlies. They were dropping one by one! I managed to take out nearly six before I assessed it as to risky and i pulled my prophet back and built a large army of wraiths and seraphs. Even though I did not win the fight i put a serious dent in their numbers and once my teammate sent some Hawks in it was no problem. I have not fully upgraded the brute chieftain but i am sure his vortex does some incredible **** when you max it out.

The don't look like much when your opponent has a scarab but ultimately they are the strongest units in the game when upgraded and used properly. They are there for a reason. Use them!

Didn't know you could upgrade scarabs. Interesting. I believe human rushing is a good strategy but I never think my rush will work (it rarely does), I just use it to slow my opponent down while I rebuild my army (btw if your rush is failing, destroy any valuable buildings your enemy might have).

but because ODST's cost 1800 resources to research, it kinda balances it out, and one or 2 grizzlies have the same power as about 10 ODST's, and hawks are abled to be researched faster, and vampires are the only other unit that can take them down easily

bum rush the ai with infantry 2-3 minutes in. works every time, even on highest difficulty. 50/50 flame/infantry jackal/grunt mixture

against humans? counter whatever they do. no perfect strat against them.

Well, my favorite units (and usally as a combination) are the ODSTs, Vultures, and as a forward base an Elephant. That really does work:

ODSTs... They are very strong against infantry due to their shotguns and great against light air and light vehicles due to their Rocket Launchers. It is also great that they can heal themselves after battles. ALSO they can be hot-dropped anywhere on the map. Their only weakness is really large forces of Grizzlies and/or large forces of Hornets. So far I haven't seen any Covenant units that are better against them. NOT EVEN THE SCARAB. One time I was moving in with about 35 ODSTs and there was a Scarab with a few locasts and the Arbiter. With a MAC Blast and a practically unlimited number of ODSTs I killed them all, including the Arbiter and Scarab.

Vultures... The Vultures are great against vehicles and most air units. They are only effective in groups of: 2 or more Vultures with Hornets or 1 to 2 Vultures with a lot of ODSTs (25-35 ODSTs). They are very good vs. Scarabs, too.

This is how I usally set up my bases...
    Build this in chronological

1st. build a barracks (upgrade marines when ready)
2nd. build 5 supply pads (Upgrade when ready)
3rd. build 1 power gen. (upgrade WHEN NEEDED)
    4th. build a new base
5th. build 4 supply pads (upgrade when ready (on the 2nd. base))
6th. build a reaserch building (on second base (upgrade)
7th. build 1 power gen. (on first base (UPGRADE WHEN NEEDED))
8th. you have 2 options now, build a lot of ODSTs and charge, build a lot of ODSTs and some Vultures. Trust me, it should work. It works for me

It is a little hard to understand but read it few times and you will. If you have any questions:
I will be posting more on this site about any other good tactics I can find.

So it turns out that the cloud of engineer strategy actually works pretty well. My friend sent over 15ish engineers to the opponents base and successfully distracted him long enough to build up a great offence. They all just sat there in a cloud of healing, taking damage and gaining the health back. He only lost one engineer through it all, too.

I would call that a solid strategy.

so much win, I think this would be a good strat, build 5 vultures, and 5 grizzleys, and have 3 spartans in 3 grizzleys so they can regen health... I had one vulture, 1 grizzley, and 1 spartan take out about 20 banshees without any of them going anywhere close to half health lol, the vulture took no damage at all...

I enjoy having my first banshee after 3mins 30 seconds and winning under 11 minutes.

Otherwise i pretty much use anyone i usually build a large army to rush or stop a rush. I sadly rarely get to do long battles because my opponents die to fast. And i got a great teammate :)

P.S. Look for my guide to come out in a week or so. Hopefully it wont suck lol.

Coolant by throwing your leader in there you can put even more pressure on him.
Playing in teams you can successfully keep two of them busy while the rest of you team upgrades,
state of grace is a must to try this though.
Course you do lose the massive expansion boom covies get in using there leader to single handedly nab ai controlled bases.
Doing this in 3v3 leads to hilarious situations like 8 ally vultures zooming down on the rest of their un-upgraded scorpions
