Well im making my first serious map ever, and I read on here how to put boxes into the ground (surround with teleporters, put doors on top, grab, release etc until its where you want it) however my boxes after about halfway just fall straight through the ground. it happens when i try the other method of stacking for example 2 walls on top of eachother and putting a box on top, then putting another box in that ones place blah blah i dont think you guys need to be lectured on this from seeing some of the maps on here =P

so can anyone tell me why my boxes just keep falling through the ground?

im going to look for a guide on this know but just throwing it out there how do you put bridges, stairs, walls etc in the ground?

    I love you.

Moving on, I cant find any guides on this site O.O because most of my maps are what you would call, sloppy, and i see ones on here that all oh so perfectly alligned, its been a while since i last came on here but did i miss alot of stuff on how to make maps better such as easy allignment and putting bridges in ground?

    Check Forging 101.
Not -everything- is in there, but about 99% of what forging has accomplished so far can be found there.

At least, that's the impression I get.

I think you're problem is that, if and when you're geo-merging, the object falls through because you are not saving and quitting. Immediately after holding the specified object, you must save and quit. Not only does this prevent the object from falling through the ground, it straightens out the specified object.

It also happened to me when I was first reading it. In this guide, it shows many other techniques to get those low merges that can be a pain to get right. For more information and forging tutorials take a glance at some more Forging 101 tutorials. Happy forging!

Message me if the problem still occurs.

Edit: You just have to brace walls and bridges a little bit more. Usually, no progress is met when you don't save and quite these items.

Did you save and quit? Is it on Foundry or Sandbox? What object are you trying to geo-merge?

If it's going in that far, i would suggest using a different object. Maybe just stack a wall or two instead. You can learn a lot of forging techniques by just downloading maps and figuring out how they made certain structures.

Right Ill go into detail because so far I have been very brief. This is just one section of my map however i want to make a window out of boxes, put one in the ground low enough to see out of it and another floating above to make a window, Ive gotten the box down successfully to around (single box btw) to around spartan height. Now when I load up the map, i lower the doors into the box and proceed to grab it, however it just goes straight to the ground with like literally a cm of box left poking out, i save and quit, restart and its back where it was before i lowered it. Yes i have been saving and quitting and ive attempted this so many times in so many different ways such as doing twice then save or save after every single grab etc and nothing is working.

Zander ive tried the wall method too. i put 1 wall down (i tried with 2 walls also) placed a box on top, deleted wall, box is floating

i start new round after setting respawn time to 30 and put another box on the tear of the other box and wait, the boxes appear perfectly over eachother i save and quit then restart, i come on and the box is like 5 walls high out of the ground.
