I never forged much till foundry came along and now I forge quite often. I have the mythic map packs and as you probably already know there is no doors to use to geomerge. People have been talking about how theyd have to go back to the old way of geomerging. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what that is. Or if you have a link to a thread that teaches you the old way of geomerging. Please help me.

The Forging 101 article on merging immoveable objects with map geometry can be found here. The first method it outlines is the so called 'old way' of geomerging (many still used it even after discovery of the door method as it can be more useful for significant merges without needing multiple stages as the door method would in such circumstances), then the door method is outlined below that. I hope this helps, and I can see moves forward in accuracy and precision methods with this way of merging now that it is the only merging option open to us on Sandbox.

By the way, it's probably worth having a look through the Forging 101 subforum if you have any queries before asking in a thread, the majority of key techniques are outlined in detail in there.

Good luck with your Forging though, this way of merging sometimes results in more unpredictable object movement when actually performing the merge, but don't be put off, practice will make you more at home with the process and, with a little time, you'll be able to pull of very precise and drastic merges using this technique.
