    Hey guys,

I'm not too great with forge but I'm having a little trouble with a new map that I am constructing. Here are some screenshots...

As you can see, the map is fairly small. I built it for 1v1 games. I am not done the map yet...and it is my first map using some interlocking.

I was given advice to double stack the outer walls to create a boundary, but it isn't very easy and the big crane thing is getting in the way.

Could someone help? I'd be more than glad to give you credit.

    Thanks!

As far as the crane goes, plan around it next time, lol. That thing is a pain. For now, though, you can just shove stuff (dumpsters, etc) into it to block it off. For the rest of the wall, just put a double box vertically against the walls you already have to create a flat, vertical surface. Then it's a simple matter to add more walls to double the height.

Slightly off-topic, but it looks to me like this map will have spawn camping problems. I think you'd be better using your remaining budget to solve this before you worry about people being able to get out of the map.

Yeah, its purposely a difficult map to play. I have plenty of Forge money left, and am still tinkering with scenery. I haven't even added spawns yet, its just the idea of getting out of the map bothers me, lol.

I'm pretty paranoid about that too.

I usually build the map and then close it off, and add weapons, spawns, etc.

The crane... Gosh I wish that thing was never put in by Bungie but as the statement before me says: Work around it. As for the map so far, It looks good but I'm new to forge and all so value my feedback how you will.  :squirrel_grouphug:

you could do interlocking on the walls so that they were just high enough that you couldn't grenade/rocket/brute shot jump over them, and if that doesn't work you can always merge the walls with the map geometry.

I've got a couple of options for you to help solve your escape problem:

    - eliminate plasma and frag grenades, and any weapon you can use to jump (like the Rocket Launcher or Brute Shot.

    - create a custom gametype that turns starting grenades off, so you can only use what's available on the map (spike and flame grenades). You can also change player gravity in the gametype to prevent any high leaping, so you can still keep the weapons I mentioned earlier.

Those are very quick fixes, and Cosmic Rick suggestion about how to build up the walls is a great one. theMallet is absolutely right though; spawn issues should be a higher concern for you with this map layout. Difficult is one thing, spawn killing is just a broken map that no one wants to play. Cover doesn't have to mean enclosed...

    He's right you know.
Oh and BTW you can grenade jump with the spike grenade(s) in-fact I find that easier than frags or plasmas.

I jump over/near/whatever a spike grenade and those needles pop my shields like a bubble any kill me. I dont how you grenade jump with them. I think that getting rid of grenades would reduce the variety of ways you can kill the other spartan(s). I'd just make sure that you stump those dirty exploiters with interlocking walls that confound them as to how on Earth they're going to get over it. :squirrel_wink:

For the crane part, you could make the wall slanted.
