Well im making a new map a all round competative map on sandbox jst thought id show you what i have done so far its no were near complete but would like some ideas and thoughts of the map so far. Base 1 not complete but the general idea of the base and base two will be on the other side and will look similar chopper spawn destructable wall where chopper comes out ramp into a room dnt have a name for room but her is what it looks like inside below sniper tower where the sniper will be located key location of the map in the middle on one of the sides been edited took out walls swapped with shield doors to stop choppers getting in. this i have jst made and not to sure if i should keep in it is a pilbox(turret) and is opostie the tower used warthog as the turret can not be took of. so please comment on what you think of my map so far and and ideas for it and any ideas for a name thanks time twister500
The map looks pretty good, but it has so much potential. I'm going to talk about the last picture, the sniper tower. The reason why I'm starting with the last picture is because you've made a textbook mistake and its bursting out of me. I would remove the walls and shield door surrounding it. They don't look to nice and the just slow down, ruin the flow of the game play. overall, the sniper tower is beautiful and I can see it being used a lot in future maps. At first it struck me, how do you get inside. The most logical solution from what I see is a grav lift, but that would leave a huge whole in floor. Not a huge worry so I would just keep the grav lift. In my opinion, you should remove those walls in screenshot 1. The walls that are 1 floor high, that make a house structure. Instead I would add ramps in a pit sort off fashion. The ramps I'm talking about are connected to the floor, leading to Rockets. In the bunker I would remove that fare window, then add something to make a small bridge like structure. This will result in any camping issue nd add more flow from one structure to another. The chopper tunnel is pretty good but I would remove the block and clean up the blocks on the exit. I would add another sniper tower, this time a higher up. Instead of a sniper, maybe camo. Try to put ramps connecting to structures, Leave some parts open but the height should be pretty tall. Clean it up, add transaction around the map and it should look playable. yep, and thats a very good thing. you dont need as much interlocking for the map to play well and look good. it looks like he interlocked where necessary, which is what should be done in most cases on sandbox. One thing. the floor in the 3rd to last pic looks bumpy. it would probably be better if that was a flat wall. oh and take out the sheild doors.
yes i wasnt to sure on the walls arround the sniper tower i thought id try it and see what it was like but will take it out and re upload a pic with out the walls and ill probably remove the broken pillars.
when moving on tht part it feels verry smooth so i dnt think theres a need to change it i will admit it looks bumpy :lol:
The map looks very nice and smooth so far. Not a whole lot so it hard to think of names.... Vale, Madra, or Kalt Desert are my suggestions. Good luck!
