Landing Pad Created by: Val Recommend Players: 2-6 Recommended Gametypes: Slayer, King of the Hill Perfectly suited for any UNSC issue hornet, Landing pad envelops the player in an incredible aesthetic atmosphere. Smooth surface transitions, along with amazing forging create both a realistic environment, and a diverse playing field. Players move between roomed areas and short hallways in this tight, close quarters map. Though the weapon layout may contrast the maps design, the frantic, upfront gameplay is quite effectively mixed with longer range weapons such as Battle Rifles and the Sniper. Whether it be admiring the serene scape of Avalanche, glancing through glass windows or collecting a great kill death ratio, Landing pad definitely has a lot to offer. Yay, I just knew this would be featured! It is soooooo good. It plays so well, and is an aesthetic masterpiece. Congrats Val on the Feature. YAY 1st post on a featured thread! I can't believe you spent all the time to color code all the boxes, It must have been frustrating as heck, but i guess why that is another reason why it got featured
Amazing map! Was waiting for this to get featured, congrats on the awesome map and now premium (I think) Val great job! I've had this for a while but I'm definitely not going to delete it!
This was expected when I first saw this map. This is probably one of my favorite Avalanche maps of all time because it's an aesthetic masterpiece and it plays well. Great job Val, and congrats on the Premium! (This and POA Bridge, right?)
This along with Interrobang are easily the best non-Sandbox floating maps. The feature was certainly earned and I look forward to what he can cook up on the new maps.
Yes Val should now get premium, it just takes more than 15 minutes for them to get it together. Anyway, congrats Val on this great accomplishment and we hope to see some really great stuff from you in the future.
Landing Pad was the map that made me say: "FEECHURE NAO" (or something like that) the most out of all the maps SO FAR. It's design itself is jaw-dropping and the game play is very fun for 2v2 and FFA. If you guys have not played this yet, PLAY IT. I have played it a number of times myself...I enjoyed every single game on it. Congrats on the Feature and Premium, Val.
this is one of my favorite 1v1 maps, although for some reason i always will spawn on the outside ledges, still great job, and congrats on premium
Congrats on Premium Val! Your the man! I knew you would get a feature for this map, and it happened! Great job dude, and I think I owe you some cookiez for the great aesthetic work you did on this map, and the fact that you can't break out! You used your skill at making aesthetic maps only, and turned them into a great competitive map!
Val for Premium '09. Great map and the gameplay, when played correctly, is awesome but I only have one discrepencie. When playing 1v1 the spawns are a bit predictable. When you kill someone in one place you can guess one of 3 places that he will spawn and get there really fast. It is kinda of unfair. Other than that, great map and congrats on the feature/premium.
This map well deserves a feature! The few games I played on it were action packed and fun. And it looks beautiful!
Wow great map! I knew this would get featured from the moment I saw it. I was one of the first to download this map and every time I play it it gets better and better. I do wonder why the staff is holding off on featuring any Sandbox maps. Best to get the deserving maps featured before every single featured map becomes a Sandbox map. And there really hasn't been anything great on Sandbox so far.
wow this looks simply orgasmic. grats on the feature too i will try this out as soon as my 360 is up and halo 3 in
WOW, I have ALWAYS been a fan of val's maps, but this one is an aesthetic masterpice. i will definitely DL and honestly, all of your maps have great anesthetics, but this one takes the cake. Congrats on the feature
Great great, beautiful amazing map. the aesthetics have caused me to die in mid game, the flow of the map is absolutely perfect, and I love standing on the balcony and just looking out into the ocean (?). This map is the perfect map for a feature and shows perfectly what a featured map should be. This map would have been worse on Sandbox, mainly due to ruined aesthetics. There are no window pieces on Sandbox, the closest you got is, Wall Slits and they're ugly and don't give the same view as a barrier would.
I love everything that Val does. His attempts at making ascetic masterpieces out of competitive, playable maps never seems to disappoint. Not like Eight Emerald Legs; I was just never able to find the playability of that map.
