Damn. Now I have to buy this. I had myself convinced that I didn't have to because of the loading times. But I guess I'll get off my horse and do it.
About the loading times. I was reading that a lot of the initial reviewers were given a pre-release copy of the game that differed from the final copy in regards to loading times. Yes the loading is annoying, but its not the TIME that is annoying, it is the frequency of how often it loads. It loads quick, it just does it a lot.
Perfectly fine by me. You're going to have this completed by the time I get my hands on it... : ( Are there suddenly loads of side quests on disc 4 or is it still a bit disappointing?
Yea, once you get to Disc 4 it is pretty much Sidequest Mania. I havent even started any of the story missions of disc 4 yet because i have been levelling and learning new skills and finding treasure. I know that i have another mission to do and then even more sidequests will be available after that, and i also know that there are like 6-8 (?) hidden uber bosses.
This game is one of the best that I've played in the last few years, to be honest. The story is incredible; I adore the Thousand Years of Dreams segments, the voice acting is top shelf, and the battle system adds just enough new things that keep it from being the same experience as every other traditional RPG ever made. I'm on disc two now, and already I think it's one of the best RPG's out right now. Definitely kicks Mass Effect's ass in my book.
Just got the game and I think it is great I love the story just got to disk two I feel giving the game so much bad comments about loading is such bull I mean people you cant stand the game loading for five seconds every now and then. The only problem I saw with the game was the ocassional framerate drop making some ciematics look chopy at times.[/rant]
Yes, the load times are completely not an issue. Regarding the Thousand Years of Dreams segments - they are incredibly moving and I adore them. The music is incredible. The story is great. I played for 8 hours today.
The dreaded thing happened to me. It gave me the disease... ..."what disease?" you may ask... well my friends and i all play games and over the years during the time we had been playing a lot of RPG's we noticed a disease that happens to you sometimes when you are playing an RPG. suddenly, for no apparent reason, you just decide to not play it one day. and then, the next day, you dont quite feel like it again, and all of a sudden 2 weeks has passed and you totally forgot to finish playing it! It is the RPG Stoppage Disease (copyrighted, Titmar Incorporated 1991) It happened to me on Disc 4 after i had been SP grinding for days and sayds. But I finally picked it back up today and I am finally going to finish beating it.
Heh, yeah I believe I've had that before, I know what you are talking about there. Happened to me with most RPGs I've played for over 50-60 hours.
My co-writer for my blog wrote a review about this game click Here for the review Sorry to advertise but this is the only thing I know about the game and will hopefully bring greater insight for others who wish to play the game.
BTW, sorry Ghost, I have very little time to even make a draft of a review. Nonetheless, I hope your blog progresses well.
Well i would have to disagree with him about the voices as far as Cooke and Mack, they are both pretty ****ing annoying after a while.
This happened to me when I was playing through FFXII. Except, it was after I fought Yiazamat (the final hunt boss) and got him down to his last segment of HP after THREE HOURS OF FIGHTING HIM, and then he killed me. God, I was so mad, I didn't play it for like three months. Eventually I remembered that I hadn't finished it and went back. Also, I'm on disc four of Lost Odyssey now, about to head into the last area (I think), and I still have no gripes about this game!
I have been absolutely addicted to this I have killed all the super hard side bosses except for one I have 800 GS just 200 more to go. (SO CLOSE!) Oh and Titmar for Cooke and Mack I changed the language to Japanese and the subtitles to English.
i havent played it in a while, i didnt beat the hidden boss in the Temple of Enlightenment because that temple was so annoying and confusing and the enemies were really tough even with my uber characters did you even beat the Money Money sidequest?
No I have not beaten the Money-Money side quest but I can honestly say right now The Temple of Enlightenment took me like three hour's of depressing walking and fighting but I got through it I have like two more things left to do in the backyard and I will have all achievements. YAY
I'm taking it slow, my time on the box has been down a little this past month... but I shall return with vigour. LO rocks.
i was considering goin for 1000 GS but i didnt want to use a walkthrough for every part of the game for fear of spoilers, therefore i am pretty sure i missed a few items. Which means i cant learn all the immortal skills. Getting all of the immortal skills is the biggest pain in the ass ever. I mean, i am pretty sure i am very close for Kaim and Seth, but its just so tedious, i dont plan on doing it. I am saved right before the last dungeon, but i havent gotten around to just finishing it already.
