    Top Shelf v1
Created by DrDoctor (gt - Filburt Turtle)

    Supported Gametypes:
    Slayer (3-5 player teams)
    Multi-Flag
    Oddball (1 ball)
King of the Hill (Stationary or moving hill)
Assault (multi-bomb, one bomb, or neutral)

    Map Description
Forged in the Skybubble of Sandbox, this is a mirrored symmetrical map and leans the power weapons towards one side of the map (a larger more open playing area with multiple levels) and leans the goals (bases) to the other side (a more closed in, one-story affair).

The 'powerful' side of the map, away from the bases has two levels. In a way it reminds me of a large version of the BR tower on Lockout without the very bottom floor. here is a large 'window' between the two made of shield doors. I figured that having such a large play area, I would need to find a way to keep all those power weapons from mixing too sloppily so I opted for the doors. They may be removed in a later version if I get enough feedback for it. On the bottom you'll find a sword and on the top a rocket launcher. On your way up you'll also notice a Carbine, Needler, Power Drainer, Two Plasma Rifles and BR on each side. Clearly much of the gameplay was meant to take place here.

In between the bases on the opposite side of the map is a diamond containing a couple sticky's on each side. You'll also find one Active Camo power up. There is a walkway connecting this diamond and the sword room where you will find the overshield.

If I remember correctly (don't have the map pulled up right now) the weapons on the maps are as follows)

    (4) SMG
    (4) Spiker
    (2) Mauler
    (4) Carbine
    (4) Battle Rifle
    (2) Brute Shot
    (2) Plasma Pistol
    (2) Needlers
    (1) Rocket Launcher
    (1) Energy Sword

I couldn't find a good place for the sniper rifle. If you think you have an idea, let me know.

    also...

    (1) Overshield
    (1) Active Camo
    (2) Regenerator
    (2) Power Drainer
    (1) Bubble Shield

Top Shelf utilizes Frag, Plasma, and Spike Grenades.

Now some images to relieve the pain of being slammed with that wall of text.

This is the first map I've made that I thought might be worth putting up here on FH. So please, go a little easy on me. I've done a little less interlocking than I would like and I can definitely appreciate it's importance after finishing this map.

I had a little bit of trouble using double walls as a floor and am currently working to correct it. If anyone knows a way then please advise. However, in the short bit of real playtesting I was able to do I found that it was playable enough for a post here. Any and all feedback is appreciated. I fear I may have run into the OLN (though I did use the original items as much as possible).

I appreciate all constructive criticism. I welcome any criticism on how I've hosted the map as well. However, please read the comments of others. If someone points out an error in my post please do not repeat them unless you accompany it with a comment about the map as well. Thanks for taking a look and I'll update this thread as the map moves toward version 2!

This looks Really well forged, I can tell it took time to work with the original design. I've never really seen the 2 different types of areas (power and objective) and i think thats its actually a pretty cool idea. At first i had my doubts but i realized that you didn't make it like shottys and rockets and Splazer, etc. So good job,

This actually looks like a really fun map. I'm not sure exactly how, but you managed to make it stick out in my mind over the other maps I've been looking at on Sandbox. Forging isn't top-notch from what I can see, but it's functional before it's pretty, which I can very much appreciate.

I also like the piece of light-node pie you've cut there in the center. Very unique, and meriting my first download of a mythic map. Looks like it plays really well--I'll follow up once I've had a chance to test it. ^_^

EDIT: May want to fix the link for your gametype.

I especialy like the concept of the multi-level part. It has good cover and multiple entrances and exits (most notable, the shield door hole). I can't really get a good picture of the base/objective part, but seeing the quality of the rest of the map, i guess it's ok. 4.2/5

Thanks for the input so far, everyone.

I'll see if I can't get a couple pictures of the base uploaded soon. Maybe an overhead map with spawn and weapons marked if I get the time.
