Sorry, I am relatively new to forging. I am working on making a map for infection. I want to place the infected in a room at the start and have to room blocked off. I want the wall used to block it off it disappear 30 seconds into the game. I dont know if that is possible. If it is please explain how to do it; or if you have any other ideas that would be similar in effect to the zombies pouring out of the room shortly after the start of the game.
Well, here are a few suggestions: A - Make a gravity lift merged through the floor (so it can be indestructable, but you don't have to) spawn at 30 seconds. This will launch you over a wall, up onto a wall resting up on top, serving as a floor. Rough diagram. ._______ | ...........___ |_______| ..........^--gravity lift (IGNORE THE ...'S) B - Have two dumpsters, spawn at start yes. Have it so they cover up the way to leave. Have the dumpsters be put so there is no room from them to the wall (Basically, put them down, and put the walls up against them. Tight, but not as tight as you can get them.) From there, have a gravity lift spawn on the outside of the wall, right up against it, place at start no, respawn time, 30 seconds. When it spawns, the dumpsters will fly up into the catcher (you put a fence box (how it is when you first spawn it) to catch the dumpsters. If you want them to stay, have a wall that spawn at start, no, and 45 second respawn time INSIDE THE FENCE BOX). And there you go!
I have a similar question, and am new to forging (working on my first map now) I've been slowing going thru the guides getting techs and stuff down and i'm thinking about a labyrinth map.. but i want the walls to be able to change if possible.. as labyrinths exits and ways change.. i know how to spawn walls on the timer, but can you remove them too?
Someone came up with a Randomization thing not too long ago. What it is it a way to make your maze change with each round. Could be the only way of doing what you want. EDIT: Couldn't find the thread where he describes how it works but I found the map her posted using it. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/casual-maps/53654-dynamo.html
So far, there has been no way to get immovable objects to disappear mid-game, only appear with the "Place at start" settings. But, you can make destructible objects (like a pallet, for example) get destroyed by a falling fusion coil, opening a path. Or a grav lift that moves a dumpster to the right like in Sweeny Todd and chrstphrbrnn's map "Help's on the way, right?" which can be found in the featured map section.
Here we go. The Forging 101 on it. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-forge-discussion/53830-forging-101-randomization.html The link was in the first post of the other thread. How I didn't see it earlier, I blame on the early morning.
