SANDBOX ONLY This could be very useful. =] Here we go: More Budget, with no Budget Glitch: So we hear that you like budget, and you have used it all, but you aren't done with your map. Don't fret just yet! There is a budget glitch! What's this you say? You didn't start the map with a budget-glitched canvas? Well, then this is just right for you! Steps: 1.) Make sure you have a sufficient amount of budget left, before you start this process. Anything greater than, or equal to $150 should work fine. 2.) Deplete the budget using any object, except for the ones listed below. 3.) Next, travel to a remotely large, unused part of your map, you will need the room for the next step. 4.) Now, scroll through the list of items, you will notice you can place some of them. Scenery: - Column, Stone Small - Column, Blue Small - Column, Red Small Weapons: - Battle Rifle - Needler - Brute Shot - Covenant Carbine Equipment: - Plasma Grenade - Bubble Shield - Grav Lift - Regenerator 5.) Make sure your budget is depleted, and place all of these objects in the large, unused section of your map. 6.) Now, delete all of the objects you just placed. 7.) You should now have about $180 dollars more than what you started with before the glitch. =] Notes: 1.) You cannot save the new budget, however you can repeat it. 2.) You can start new rounds while you have your new budget. I hope this helps those in need. -Pigeon If you have any questions, just ask. =]
Nice find, but if you did the budget glitch and then deleted all the objects used to do this glitch would you still have more money to use?
If you were to delete all objects on Sandbox, and attempt to do the glitch, it will not work. After you have depleted your budget, there is nothing you can spawn. So, my assumption is that you need objects on your map already. Anything more or equal to the default Sandbox object count works just fine. I don't know how much less you can do though. However, I did find that if you are to make a canvas of Sandbox, you can still reach the budget limit, BEFORE the OLN. In other words, if you have a canvas you can still finish off your budget, with items to spare. However, this is only by about 6 items. So budget glitch maps will be fairly pointless.
Yeah, it really helps. Now, if you don't want to have to start off with a budget glitched canvas you don't have to worry. And especially if you are forging in the sky box, because it is a pain to have to drag all the items from the main area up there. Although, you don't need to, you can delete all of them, and still get to the budget before the OLN. I wonder why Bungie said that you shouldn't delete any of the default items...
I know why this is happens. Bungie has many of the items on the map spawn with extras in the max item setting. The items you listed, and more, just happen to be the ones that have this error. By spawning all of them, and then deleting the ones you don't want, you're filling up the item list so on map=max, and then by deleting them, both the on map number and the max are coming down. In addition to the items you listed, the error is on red and blue lights, a couple other guns, and single walls. By making a canvas that fixes this error, you can begin with $674 rather than $510. I just so happen to have such a canvas in my fileshare This is simply Shishka's OLN canvas, but I reduced all of the objects' maxes to the amount on the map, and I set the respawn time of every immovable object to 150s so that I can tell which ones I'm allowed to delete without breaking OLN. If someone makes a better canvas accounting for this error, and with the respawn time adjustment I made, you've got my download.
Ahh, so it's like those items were already "Budget-glitched"... I was not aware of this, so I guess my method is kind not a glitch, but my own misunderstanding. =P
Its still important for everyone to understand whats happening in order to fix the issue, and hopefully for canvases to come out addressing it. I'm glad you brought it up, if nobody did I was going to make my own thread about it last night anyway.
Wait, so if some objects are pre-glitched by bungie then how can the get mad at us for using the budget glitch?
Bungie was probably not aware of this. There are so many objects, and they just probably did not even notice the few that have this glitch applied to them.
Well the weapons and equipment were likely intentional, because its usually good to have more of the item in the max category than are on the map, so they spawn more regularly. Plasma grenades and battle rifles for example have the max limit set as high as it can go, which for the BR consumed about 50 extra budget. The immovable objects like walls, pillars, and the red+blue lights were probably mistakes however.
