well i see that all the best sigs are made using photoshop and im wondering how you get it, do you download it? Do you buy it? please somebody tell me, i want to become a good sig maker, but i cant without photoshop *sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, if it is then can a mod move it, thanks*
You could buy it almost anywhere. Walmart, Target, Best Buy. It's around $60. Before purchasing it, though, I'd consider GIMP. It's a completely free program very similar to PS. I know that a fellow named Warfang and myself use it for sure but I think Lockdownn may use it too
60 dollars, no no no. More like 600. Literally. Don't get photoshop quite yet, get good with gimp, then maybe go for photoshop. I use gimp, and I'm pretty happy with it.
Hey, LOCKdownN does pretty awesome without it. He does beat people with GIMP over Photoshop. So it's really the user that's better, not the program.
my way is secret but i have cs4 and i love it. i can't stand GIMP personally. if you don't feel like making a trip to the store, you can go to their website and buy and download from there. Simple. Also, 30 day trials from the website are free. So you can try it and compare to GIMP before you make a decision.

Photoshop CS4 is $1000. No less. My way is secret too And remember. Its not the program that makes the art. Its the user. I must say, although Lockdownn uses GIMP and i use CS4, his sigs often kick the living **** out of mine.

If you want to upgrade from GIMP then take a trip to office depot and buy Photoshop Elements. It has more options, filters, and tools. But it is only 60-70 dollars. I think this is what Brainsoupy was talking about. However almost anything can be made in gimp if you put enough time into it so...... yeah. If you do have an easy 1000 dollars to spend go for it but it would be much better to just grab gimp and decide whether you upgrade to elements. Its free for individuals because the internet security agencies only go after companies. However, DO NOT use torrents. They have a p2p two way download system so it broadcasts your IP and all of your files become publicly accessible because of hackers. Same with limewire. Use a warez site where the downloads are through rapidshare or megaupload. Absolutely virus safe.
lol are we really talking about what illegal ways are better to DL PS? Thats great but I use GIMP and I can honestly say I have used PS before and it is good but GIMP is almost exactly the same. I plan on torrenting CS4 though. But I get my frend to DL through his comp Virus scan and then we do file sharing. Its easy. Thats how I got PS 7 which I don't use but...
Although they are similar. I can assure you that Photoshop has some features that GIMP lacks. Such as clipping masks. Ive never used GIMP, so i dont know by experience, but common sense tells me photoshop.

psdtuts.com Lots of tuts also apply to gimp, its a simmilar program, but in all honesty, gimp is a free program, their not going to even attempt to make it better than photoshop because they know they would be missing out on masses of money. The reason it is free is because it sucks compared to photoshop in all its awe. Gimp I beleive is not compatible with the other adobe programs which cover basicly anything to do with design, which makes its the best in my eyes... Adobe.com to download it. You can download the trial for 30 days and then you must buy, or use other, illegal methods to use it -REMOVED-. Apparently its against the rules so I wont even name the methods.
NOT TRUE! GIMP is just as good as PS in almost every way except that PS has a few more things. But really GIMP is pretty much the same except PS charges outrageous amounts of money for something that is maybe slightly better than a free program. But like people have said it is the user who it really depends on.
Have you actually tried photoshop? If you haven't you can't make a judgment towards which is better. I've tried both, and Photoshop is much better, much more features than GIMP.
