Coliseum Gametype Here is my first map that I am posting on this site. The idea behind this map is pretty simple. It is a 1v1 map that uses rounds so multiple people get to 1v1 in the same game. In the first picture you can see two teles. The right tele goes into the fighting area and the left goes into the viewing area. The gametype has 10 rounds each to 10 kills. Pick 2 people to go first they will 1v1 and whoever wins stays on next round keep this cycle going for the full ten rounds. I know there are tons of maps like this out. In my map I tried to attempt to make a small map like this that uses skills that carry over into official mlg gametypes. The biggest weakness this map has is players being xbl warriors. I tried very hard to make it difficult to be spawn trapped. Weapon list: 4 BRs 2 Carbines 1 Mauler w/ zero extra clips 2 frags 2 plasmas Starting spawn Overview of 1v1 arena Middle structure Gameplay Viewing area Coliseum Gametype The gametype is just mlg slayer v6 with no teams and 10 rounds. The map only supports a max of 5 players. I have had this map for a while now I figured I would put it out there before the forums are flooding with sandbox maps. If I do update the map it will be to clean up a couple of the forges; make it so if the people in the viewing areas kill themselves, they still spawn in the viewing areas. I am also considering adding a very small amount of cover on top of the bases.
pictures a little small, don't you think??? Make sure you used the IMG code, Can't really tell that much off the bat, i'll open them all and take a better look, but you should try to fix them.
i'm try to do one like this except with absolutely no cover... but you did a good job, id just suggest making it available to be played with more people like "Holy's Domain"
Jake do you have a link to that map so I can check out and see what he did to support more players? I know I could have made it so everyone(up to 16 players) would have started in the same room and than gone through the teles, when I was first making the map I wanted to make it as noob proof as possible. I didn't get everything done that I wanted but I came pretty close. I did want to make it so that if you killed someone in the viewing area that person wouldn't spawn in play but I never really figured that out.
