Actually thats how his gamer tag was before it was changed. I don't deserve all that much credit. anyway, Im glad your coming back, can't wait to forge with you again. Side Longest was a nickname, and it was going to stay a nick name... But it stuck and we just decided to go with that. Anyway, Im glad you guys enjoy the map.
I really enjoyed testing this with you Asper. Every gametype seemed to work perfectly my favorite was terrorties. I Dled as soon as I saw it was out and I hoping to play a game on it today. The first BTB map on Foundry. Great Job!
I remember help testing this map once or twice, it was amazing. Great job creating a map on foundry and making it worth it to actually use a vehicle. This was a great map and it doesn't look like you changed it much, maybe not at all. So I'll give it a 5 star rating. Great map, glad to see it released finally!
WOW this is probly the coolest map i have every seen in a long time OMG freaking sweet map asparia your'er like the freaking god of makeing maps . ? how do i play with other forgehub tester's?
Wow, really great map you guys got there. I rarely see Foundry maps that can fit all 16 players 'cause it usually gets really tight.
gr8 map, alrdy dl'ed. oh and for all who dont know, the song is Mistakes, by godsmack, from the AWAKE album
great map, i played it during the last TGIF several weeks ago and it was great. There was a lot missing and tons of work to be done. Also, whats the name of the godsmack song in the video.
this map looks increadible! can't wait to try it out. i've never played on a foundry map that could support 16 people.
I remember seeing the Youtube video of this. I could not wait for it to come out. I love how the sniper can be retrieved.
I just gave it a forge-through, and while I liked the layout, I thought the map itself was a little sloppy. There were gaps in between walls and hardly anything was interlocked. I wish you guys would have also turned the boxes and bridges upside down....it just makes maps look cleaner and more professional looking. The layout itself is great, as it gives a great amount of space for vehicles and foot combat...but the quality could be so much greater, especially from Guilders.
I was surprised at the small amount of spawn points (24-26, if memory serves). There seems to be no shortage of cover, but for a map of that size is seems a little sparce. Other than that I thought it was cool, the wall inside the open boxes is genius.
First of all for the so-called "sloppiness" of the map. What most people don't know is that we started this map in January... so yes... the Hang em High ledge is pretty sloppy. For bridges being flipped over, that's personal preferrence. I prefer the bridges the way they are.. I like the top side. And for double boxes being flipped, if we did that then one side would look awesome and the other side would look like crap. Symmetrical aesthetics is important. And the bottom of double boxes only look good as walls and cielings... nothing else. As for the spawns... they are spread out and facing in appropriate directions. We ran into the item limit and could not place anymore objects. Things had to be sacrificed for the overall map. And if you play my maps, I never have alot of spawns. I always pick quality over quantity. And as for the interlocking. There is interlocking in important places. We could not fill in gaps because of the item limit, or because if we filled them in it would through the whole size of the building off and nothing would look right. Trust me, I spent atleast 5 hours on the building layout. I had to make it work with limited objects and had to make the obscure sizes fit perfectly with minimal interlocking, because we didn't have the objects available to cover gaps. So quit whining. Yes we are guilders... yes we provide quality... however, there are boundaries set in maps... if you want something unique then you have to sacrifice. If any other guilders built this and tried to do it perfectly, they would have to take out key parts of the map, because of all the extra objects that they use to try to make things look pretty and unique. And I'd like to see you guys make those bridges nicer... I got so frustrated that when I got close to what I wanted I stopped. I spent about an hour and a half on those ramps alone... And all the other guilders are AMAZING at interlocking... those 1v1 maps are great. Not me folks. I don't have the time or the patience to do that. I go for key gameplay and basic importance of maps. I'm a bit old school. And all of my maps are simple. Don't expect anything more from me... Complexity is cool and all, but gameplay is where it's at... Look at training ground...
To Azn's, Asper's, and Lone's credit, so far they are the only ones to have made a map that is BTB. So, gameplay is crucial and quite frankly, it is near impossible to make a map that size with interlocking techniques, there just isn't that amount of material. Interlocking doesn't not salvage the quality of gameplay, many bungie maps I think suck and aren't fun to play on. Hell look at cellars or the estate even, quite frankly AZN is the best guilder for gameplay, even those his maps may not have the complexity of others they are certainly a blast to play.l
Asper you really deserve bieng guilder! You have some great maps. I was so exited when you put the vid out.
