    Version 1.1 - Updates

    Added respawn areas for Slayer, Odball, KotH, and VIP.
    Replaced 2 Battle Rifle's with Covenant Carbines.
    Added another Battle Rifle
    Added two Plasma Rifle's,

    Please download the new 'Aeron'. I dont plan to update this map further. My only reasons for this were that this map needed respawn areas. They have been added to the above gametypes. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    Introduction

    Welcome to Aeron. This is a highly modified remake of the famous map 'Firing Line'.
    This is now my 4th released map. My skills improve drasticly on each new map. This map will probably resemble 'Firing Line', although i have remade more than 90% of the original map. The size is roughly 150% of the original map. This map is over 95% interlocked. Every path, bridge and floor has been smoothed to perfection. This really is as best as i can get it.

    Description

    This map is an arena based map, with corridors and rooms branching away from it. The centre area. The map has a maximum of 3 levels, although only 2 are ever present in one area. There are many ways up and down from each level.

    The upper level is the walkway around the centre arena. The middle level is the arena floor, and a part of the back corridor, which is where the Oddball spawns. The lower level, is mainly a corridor which circles the arena, with multiple ways up.

    The map has many symmetrical aspects, such as the barriers used as pillars, and the, almost equal, sides of the arena. The map also features many aysmmetrical aspects, such as the area where the Oddball spawns, and the area where the Sniper Rifle spawns.

    This map features a whole range of styles of play. Any kind of fighter can win if he uses the scenery to his advantage. There is plenty of cover, and closed spaces in some areas of the map, which proves an advantage for the close quarters or sneaky players. There are also some open corridors, and large spaces, for the players who prefer to kill at a distance. There are also plenty of oppertunities to bounce grenades around corners onto an unsuspecting enemy. And there are a whole range of ways to get from one point on a map to another. This map has been tweaked for the better part of a week, to make sure that there are no glitches, and no ways to escape from the map. If you find anything wrong, please send me a PM on xbox live and i will do my best to fix it.

    Note: The top level on the screenshots (wall corner's) cant actually be reached, they are solely for aesthetical reasons. It was an original idea to have them integrated into the map, but i thought it would take some of the gameplay from the lower levels.

    Ok, i will frequently update this post, making it look nicer and possible adding some more screenshots. Please be as honest as you possible can, this is only my fourth map, i need as much criticism as possible if i want to improve.

    This looks amazing, quite the update you've made here. What annoyed me in your last one was the crates underground, they got in the way too much. I'm also liking that merged step of yours, merging with map geometry always impresses me.

    Great job, I'll give this a download, also.

    EDIT: After playing those rounds of Oddball and KOTH, the first thing I've gotta say is - someone in that room had some massive lag. That really broke the fun-factor of the map for me. But I can't judge on that, though.

    Oddball: Eventually (this will inevitably happen), someone is going to hide downstairs, underneath those fence wall (shotgun spawn). Sure, you could shoot the carrier from above, but he has plenty of time to escape, and you'll be assassinated, as those fence walls are one of the most popular areas of the map. You could also grenade spam him from the bottom half, but there are two doorways - and with multiple people grenade spamming him, there's, there's going to be confusion, shouting, and... one person carrying the Oddball in the very same spot.

    KOTH: You're map shined while we played this. Even though I left early, the Hill Points were perfect - all of them easily accessible, and all of them equally fun. There is one problem I had during this gametype, though - I spawned in an open double box, nearest to the far left fence wall. From there, I could jump on the very tip of said box and contest the hill above me - you might want to fix this.

    I LOVE how you used the fence walls perfectly aligned to give the floor texture on the bottom level.

    Much better than the first.

    you should DL it still...its a much more complex layout now, i didnt get a chance to get any games in on the first one, however i can already tell that they play much differently.

    Matty i really dont see anything that could be improved to be honest. You cant really make this map any better than you have already done. i love that the top level is pretty symmetrical but the bottom is assym.

    Yah I noticed that as well.. this looks really good, even better than the previous. I hate having a broken Xbox. I want to test alot of these recent maps, as well as get started on my next one.

    Anyways, looks terrific from what I can see on here. Can't really find anything to complain about. **thumbs up!**

    Thanks for the support guys, it really means alot.

    Im a little disappointed with the first 3 posts, i was expecting a little more in-depth comment, but its ok, im sure when Orange gets here ill get an essay to read.

    I am very proud of this map myself. I didnt think i would be able to do it. I hope this map lives up to the hype that 'Firing Line' had created. And i hope this map beats it by hitting more than 180 downloads in a week, which is what FL had.

    Again thanks very much for the support, i really appreciate it. Please can people offer some criticism, i cant improve without it.

    Looks fricken way better than Firing Line Matty! I'm gonna DL and I'll get back to you with some thoughts and impressions. Now that this is out i'm deleting Firing Line, no offense.


    Edit: Ok, now that I have done a walk through I have 2 small complaints.
    First, there is plenty of interlocking on this map so it surprises me that the walls are not interlocked. I know it's a pain and takes a while, but it would really put this map high up there with me. Who knows, maybe nobody will notice while games are being played so it really isn't a huge deal.
    Second, I know on firing line one of the complaints was too much junk in the hallways but now there is nothing. Lots of crates = bad, just the right amount of crates = good! Do you have budget constraints? Either way I still give this map and 8 out of 10.

    This is meant to be an update, rather than a whole new map, but i thought the changes were so great that i had to make a completely new description. Also some people might like the previous one so its still there.

    I like the addition of a base, it really opens up more types of gameplay, and the map looks better and cleaner. Also it now seems to be unbreakable, all pluses in my book.

    Looks preety good Matty, sorry I havent played Fireing lane. But otherwise looks good got some terrific interlocking there.

    Not bad Matty. But when did you merge the box to make a step? I don't remember that. But whatever, the map looks pretty good for oddball and MLG.

    It was a late addition, i wanted to do something different than just a ramp or dumpster, and i think the box was a good substitute.

    Wow, outstanding job Matty. I love the interlocking in the screenshots, and from that, this looks exactly like and maybe even better that Firing Line ( I don't know how that can be ) . I will definitely Download this.
