Hey I was wondering what you guys do to get rid of those bumpy floors. On a map that I was working on, its going by the wayside simply out of a lack of desire to finish it, I had several people complain that some of my floors were bumpy. Now, granted I did mix right side up and upside down double boxes to make a floor, it was still fairly bumpy in on the one that were all upside down.

Any ideas or ways that you guys normally smooth out the floors? It'd be nice if you had an idea for floors made out of boxes on the ground and a floor floating in the air.

    I really appreciate it guys...

usually geomerging does result in bumpy floors, but if you use the door method with a fence wall, get that under the map, then save and quit, then go under the map (with the methods provided in the forging 101 section) pick the fence wall up and move it to the amount that you want your box to be underneath the level and (whilst keeping the wall flat) save and quit again then use the door method (provided in the forging 101 section) to move the object of your choice (for example; Double Box) under the map, keep on moving it under with the doors until it hits the fence wall (it has to be perfectly aligned with the fence wall) if it does start to automatically go under the map and spaz out, don't worry, it's lying against the surface of the (flat) fence wall...
Hope that helped a little, if not, then i'm sorry but i can't say anything else...

I've actually got the geomerge down pretty good now, I just need to apply that to my old map on a couple of random boxes.

But what about a second story type floor? Something that could be floating in the air...

Can you give me a link to the map? I wanna see just how bumpy the floors are. I can usually tell when floors are 'too bumpy'.

Make sure everything is the same height.

There will always be bumps. When you walk around by yourself they are relatively noticeable. In game, not so much. Don't sweat it.
