Well, no I have not, but I score in like the 98% for math on the PSAT, and I am not to worried about the English and writing sections. I feel like this is much more of a challenge and a lot more fun. Sure the SAT might help me get into college, but places like MIT and CalTech are taking AMC, AIME, and USAMO scores now because it really gauges how well you do in math compared to the SAT.
Hey, this is general chat(<_<)(>_>) Any way I checked the AMC 10 and 12 have point values up to 150. The AMC goes up to 25. Also on the 10 and 12 you get 6 for right answers, 1.5 for blank, and 0 for incorrect.
I took the AMC 10 for a second straight year a couple of weeks ago. Without a calculator, most were brain dead easy, but a few questions were tough. I answered like 18 out of 25, then got bored with 20 minutes left and played dots with my friend. It was fun because some friends and I missed a whole day of school to screw around on a test that didn't matter, eat unlimited college buffet food for free, and **** around on the bus ride. Good times.
Is this like the American equivalent to SATs? I'm assuming you did well because your avatar is a diagram depicting the up and down quarks in a proton...
Well no, it is what America uses to recruit kids for the international high school math team. We have SAT's in America. Also I have quarks because I like physics more than math, but I do love math as well. Also I crapped out at problem 17 so I did not do that well. There are 25 problems and 75 min. Try these out, this is what the problems are like, only more of them.
Hmmm I dont think this exists in Germany... Well, I once took part in a math contest thing, and I was ranked two in Germany. I got a tiny card game for winning. Meh... I am still proud though.
