I would like some advice on a map I have made. The map is designed to be played with territories, it is a linear gauntlet set up to defend each territory in turn. At the start, the defenders should spawn at territory 1 to defend it, and the attackers should spawn in a separate area close by (let's call it area 0). Once the attackers have captured territory 1, they should spawn there, and the defenders should spawn at territory 2, ready to defend that. And so on... The idea is that the attackers always spawn at the front-most territory they have, and the defenders spawn at the next one along. The defences get harder for each territory. Teams have a limited time on the attack and should not often get all the territories. So the final score represents how far along the gauntlet they managed to get. That's the idea anyway. I am having difficulty getting the spawns to work like that. I am aware that the territory markers have a spawn area for whoever owns them, but again, I can't get this to work as I would like. If anyone has any ideas like: A) How to get the territory spawn areas working. B) Some other spawn system that would do the job. C) A system of teleporters or man cannons that would work, but not be open to abuse (i.e. an attacker teleporting to an area further than has been claimed yet). Please let me know. Thanks
I'm pretty sure Furious D had an idea very similar to this, he may have even started making a map with it. You could drop him a vistor message, I'm not sure how active he is but he may be able to help. Furious' Profile
I've seen this idea done with assault on last resort of all maps believe it or not. He used the bomb's explosion to block off the past areas. I have no clue how they got the spawns to work however. Possibly uses of switches to block spawn points could work. but you would then limit the number of territories you can have with the number of switches.
