Map Title: Colosseum (and it's spelled right, too ) The update to my first Colosseum, though it's built from scratch. Plays with: Slayer Two Team CTF Oddball Moshpit (KotH) Grifball Juggernaut --------------- Instant Respawn - Yes Geo-Merging - Yes Interlocking - Yes Fun - Yes --------------- Download Map Download Gametype Description: A small-medium, circular map built within Foundry. Simplistic in design, but extremely fun during Slayer. I worked on it for about a week, and I am happy with the results. Though the pics may fool you, the ground is not very bumpy at all. Tournament is the main gametype, and plays very well with the instant respawn and such. For all gametypes, use: -Quickest respawn possible -Random weapons When using Grifball, be sure to make it so vehicles don't spawn. EDIT: Now for the pics! View of the north side of the Colosseum. Taken in forge so you can observe the respawn points. View of the west side of the Colosseum. Mancannon placed to allow access to upper platforms. Overshields on middle platform. View of the east side of the Colosseum. Symmetrical to the west side, excluding the Active Camo. View of the south side of the Colosseum. Firebombs are placed at the corners of the fence walls. One of every equipment spawns on weapon holders within the floor after 10 seconds. Done to prevent rolling of Radar Jammer, Powerdrain, and Flare. And don't worry about escape due to gravity lift, Colosseum is inescapable. Well, almost A chopper and a ghost spawn on each side after 30 seconds. Competitive gameplay is now ruined. Yes, a warthog spawns after 45 seconds. Wraith spawns with warthog to burn and piss on competitive gameplay. Story (yes, I even found the time to construct a story): This Mayan Colosseum has been excavated and brought into a warehouse, where it was cleaned up. Sadly, and somehow, the Spartans in charge of the excavation locked themselves inside their warehouse. With nothing else to do, they decided to fight, seeing as they would respawn instantly along random parts of the wall. And after a while, the deaths didn't hurt anymore, and the Spartans lived a long, crappy life. P.S. The extra gametypes were a joke, but are still slightly amusing. And I do not expect Grifball to be well accepted into this map. P.P.S. If you do manage to escape, there is a trampoline and access to Foundry's famed out-of-bounds.
Well, it looks good. You probably would have been better off with this in the aesthetics section, if you don't actually wan't people to play gametypes on it. I just don't see how this could become a competitive game, even though you already have said the gametype was in fact a joke, but what ev. Looks-3.5/5 Gameplay Meh Thinks-Not So Much
Like already stated this map looks really good; much like the floor of your Grave Danger map. And without the wraith this map would go very well with a game type i played called Hijackers. I really like the floating spawns, it'll stop major spawn-killing. Now that i think of it, if all the vehicles were taken out (or turned off) this may not be a bad 2 v 2 CTF game.. with different weapons though. Over all looks really nice but I don't know about game play.
I like the aesthetics, but the gameplay... not so much. Also, I suggest not taking pics in forge mode. Those spawn points look ugly.
haha cool map. i like the -slow death of competitive gameplay- philosophy, never seen it done before, lol. i think this map would go really good with plasma pistols and infinite grenades, like a sticky map.
Everyone, not ALL gametypes are just filler; Download Tournament and tell me what you think. And once again, I took pics of the spawn points so I didn't have to explain them, and the idea is just INGENIOUS! (to an extent) Thanks for the comments, and feel free to alter the object/weapon/vehicle placement to suit your gametype needs. I just want credit for design. Oh, and if you actually downloaded and played the map, place a "*" in your post.
wow this looks amazing! youve got a dl from me! the map is great, 4 stars from me. but the bigger vehicles sorta ruin some of it i think, it would be better with more smaller vehicles, but ill try it out later and decide then if its better with them or worse. good job once again!
This is pretty cool. It's like a monster trucks map but you don't have to use vehicles. it is a bit small for CTF but I guess it's good. Grifball looks good and the ground is smooth. Good interlocking and geo-merging. I see your a trainiee and if your new to forge WOW!!! if your not you still get a WOW! but only 1 ! alright Overall 5/5
haha..this map makes me think of another map I recently downloaded and actually forged a little bit of my own taste into for my friends and I. It has this basic idea but it was meant for the Gladiator gametype. I made it to where the people who spectated actually got lauched into the small crazy map...this was great for team swords or no-scoping with snipers..I will prob use your map for a larger game of what my friends and I play...over all though I give it 4.5/5..its a great looking map.
Its a really nice concept, and It would actually make for a great MLG-style 1v1 warmup. The vehicles just completely ruin the gameplay and are really a unnecessary feature. Add a A/B sign in every corner for cover, and you got yourself one hell of a BR warmup map. Map: 8/10 Gameplay: 5/10
haha! i'll download this just because your story is hilarious! But on a more serious note.. this is one of the better collesesueum (not. right. spelling.) i've seen in a while! I really like the way you made the middle rise up just slightly. I think it'll be a fun map to mess around with vehicles too. Thanks for putting a week of time into my next seven minutes of fun!
in this map you did a very nice job forging. the sides are very neat and everything is symmetrical to one another. i like how you took it a step further by introducing some vehicles as well. idk how it will help with the gameplay you envisioned but im sure it will work.
Thanks, keep the comments coming. Good or bad, I'll take 'em. And for those who don't like the vehicles: They provide good cover... :/ And just change the gametype if you don't want them.
