I give up. I've tried everything. Right now, I'm round my friend's, and we're trying to set up his xbox 360 wirelessly with the official wireless adapter for the 360. He used to use a wire, but he calls it "unsightly", so is trying to set it up wirelessly. It just won't connect. It will find the router, accept the WEP code, but when we press "Test Xbox LIVE Connection", the dotted line between the 360 symbol and the router symbol has a big red cross through it. It falls at the first hurdle every time. It's weird, because everything else connects with no trouble in the same room as the xbox. (i.e. my laptop and my friend's iPod Touch) I've tried manually entering all the details for the router into the "wireless settings" area of the network settings on the xbox 360 dashboard, but it still won't connect. I've tried all of the suggestions the xbox gives me, but I have a few things that I think are the reason that it won't work: - The xbox is a core console. When I tried connecting my other friend's xbox wirelessly when he couldn't get a hold of the wire, we had the same problem for no reason. I think it's got something to do with that (unless any of you are connected wirelessly on an xbox core console?) - The router is near a cordless phone. But f that had any effect, the laptop and iPod Touch shouldn't connect upstairs either, right? - The xbox is vertical. I dunno, I'm just guessing now. Can ANYONE help? Xbox support's faq has nothing about finding the router, but it not connecting, so I'm stuck. HELP!
Error? What the status codes? Dunno, but I'm not there anymore. I still need the help though. The xbox isn't bricked, and neither is the adapter (as far as I can tell).
What may be the problem, is if it's in some sort of closed place. Mine is, so when I'm playing, I have to leave to little door open, maybe move the xbox out a little bit. I suggest you get the codes, and call 1800-4-MYXBOX. The computer guy is actually fun to talk to there.
This is what I think is wrong with it E93, but I still think it's something to do with it being a Core console. Worth a try though. Thanks
