I have been with forgehub for quite some time now, although I may not have the most posts in the world, and I have noticed that ratings generally dont mean all that much. Here's my reasoning: With my map posts of recent date I have put in polls near identical or identical to the rating bar and the results are much different. Excluding my own maps I've noticed the same with others as well. This being the case I've asked why this could and heres my answer. People can't see the poll results before voting so ultimately might vote more according to what they believe the thread to be worth. Where as a rate bar can be seen ahead of time and one will think this map shouldnt have this many stars let me give it a one to knock it down some. Anyways, whats your guys' take on this?
In my opinion, the whole system of stars is ****. It's pointless because no ones uses it like it should be used. However, mods can see who votes and what they vote for. Next time, post this in Customer Service.
Nobody pays attention to the stars, and the poll doesn't show up on the main page. They're both just services for the map's creator to know how good people think his map is.
I totally agree with this and you are about to get my opinion about this. Ok I think that map ratings are screwing forgehub up. New people go through maps and only click the ones that are five star because obviously they are looking for good maps. There are messed up people on fh who think its funny to run around and rate maps one star. I had this done to Sanskrit v3 and its like 3 stars now just becuas of these noobs. Now people wont even bother clicking it. If you ask me I say we just get rid of it because its obvios rude people run around abusiong the system
