I don't want to scare anyone, but I tried the door trick tonight for the first time after AU1. It still works but it seemed way twitcher than it was before the update. The results weren't anywhere as accurate or as simple to achieve as when I tried it before.

(It worked in the end, but it took about 30 minutes to get it right!)

I just wanted to give a heads up to Forgers who are better than me, possibly to try it out and see whether I'm just being paranoid :p

This is useful but also very time consuming.

This should definitely be the next Forging 101 video tutorial. Otherwise, it is trial and error which is sometimes not worth the frustration for creating that section of your map.

I can confidently use all the tricks and glitches in Forge except for this one. Lack of patience for this inexact science is the likely culprit.

I have only seen this technique used once in a map, and it didn't really make all that much of a difference.

i tried to do the door one, and when i did it, even when i secured it with immovable objects, it started to go crazy and it flew up into the air........and i tried it again......once i got the door in, pushed the double box into the ground a little, then put the door back in, i tried to make it go even further, and the box flew up so that it wasn't merged, and the door flew way up into the air.....can you make a video of it?

well, when i do this either im too late in saving or the box dissapears below the floor. what is a good way to save quickly so the box is in the correct position?

Just before the box appears above to push you object into the floor, hit start, go to save changes, and have "YES" highlighted. As soon as the box appears, select "YES."

I love this technique, it makes the map seem so much more cleaner. I have been Merging Objects as well as with the map. :squirrel_giggle:

Hopefully we will be getting some unique looking maps that don't follow the rule of everything being the same height (walls). I have the perfect map in mind for creating a sort of "hut" as a base, with low walls and tight corridors.

This isn't the proper forum to ask for help. I can show you, but next time just send me a PM so we can work out the details off the forum. The Shoutbox works sometimes too.

    Thanks,

    New Glitch!!!

hey, i found a new trick which works in much the same way as the merging objects trick anyway i didnt know how to tell anyone bout it so i figured that this would be the best place to start. basically you can create certain areas which you can get out of but not into, you can shoot and kill people if you are in this area but outsiders cannot touch you. alright ill explain what you do

    1. create a closed box or double box on the level foundry.
    2. place another of that item on top of the other one.
    3. set the top box to place at start: no.
    4. start a new round and when it starts run to the box and stand ontop of it.
    5. wait for the other box to spawn.

    Result:
you are now in a box you can see through, shoot through and even throw grenades through! however no one can harm you. even try throwing grenades at your feet! the box masks the blast so you do not get hurt. anyway i found this glitch and as far as i know i am the first, i cannot find anything about it on youtube or anywhere else. This glitch can be used in many ways, this was just an example of a use for example of another such use, I managed to place a warthog inside a box and was able shoot through the box. Also you should know that you can use this glitch without the bottom box, however more than often you will be pushed through the floor and killed but this can be kool if the box is placed in the right spot (I got pushed through the floor into the trench thing that runs through the middle of foundry whilst on a mongoose therefore i had a mongoose under the floor...twas funny...)

You must feel so ingenuitive for finding that out.

First of all, someone already posted something like this. And second, it got locked because it was it was completely retarded and useless.

oh i beg to differ! say if you had a zombie map where these 'safe' zones become inaccessible after increasing amounts of time therefore the zombies must rush to kill the humans. what then eh?

Then people would get bored of your map.

whilst i do agree that it would create a stalemate in the game, i do not believe this glitch should be written off entirely
