Lately, My Xbox 360 has been putting a ringed scratch in games I play. I don't know why, and I don't know how. I can't play three of my games now, because they've been ruined. Have any of you experienced this problem, and if you have, do you know the cause? Do you know the solution? Please Help.

Troubleshoot it on the xbox website. It might be that something came loose and/or fell against the disk drive, but I wouldn't know how to fix it easily.

Wipe the disc tray and anything in contact with the disc down. If there's something hard or sharp in it, it will scratch the disk every time it spins. Don't get it too wet though.

Adding on: You can't move your Xbox when it's on. The disk is spinning, so if you shake it at all, it moves out of place and scratches. It's happened to me when I moved my Xbox, but luckily I turned it off in time. Just don't move the Xbox when it's on and you should be good.

This is a fault with the older xbox's. How long have you had yours, because I got mine in like late 2006, and its the manufacturers problem. I know its gonna be hard, but you MUST stop playing games, or they will continually get scratched. Call Xbox Support or whatever, and they will send it back for a new drive.

That's what I thought at first too. But today I haven't moved or touched my xbox at all besides opening the disc tray. Not two minutes after playing Gears 2, it said it was unreadable, and sure enough when I opened it, there was a ring in it. Thanks for the feed back everyone.

I got the one I have right now in June of 2007, is that still old enough to have these problems? I have a two year warranty on my Xbox, and if I trade it in I can get a Newer one for free. I plan on calling Xbox Support soon.

Well I dont know the solution but I would probably consider getting a new xbox if you have the money.

How do you keep your xbox? Remember never to move it when you have the disc inside it.

If you keep it vertical, maybe put it sideways. If you keep it sideways, vice versa.
