Looks good for a first post. Maybe add a couple more pictures so we can get a feel for the map more. Oh and I hate shield doors (just me sorry). Anyway it looks pretty good for a first map/post. Considering all the -blam!- we have on here... Anyway hope you make a good v2 and keep up the good forging. Edit: Oh and you can have up to 20 pictures in one post... so I guess you got the code wrong or something...
Okay, I added more pictures. You should be able to get a "feel" for it now. Oh, and that shield door is part of a door. Just put it there so that the dumpster doesn't move out of place. Or did you mean that you hate those types of doors?
hmm. good layout or not, it looks sloppy, it could use a lot more merging, the other dude is right, it's hard to get a feel for the map, with the current pics, you can have more, just put more in the post VIA edit. but it def. looks sloppy, clean it up for V2 like the corner wall in the fourth pick, stuff like that, and some of the stuff merged still looks sloppy, ( stairs poking up from the box in the pic second from bottom). I'm not dissin your map, the layout works, it just feels sloppy can't wait for the less sloppy v2 P.S. you should prolly learn to geo-merge
Everything but a few boxes and one wall are merged. Excluding bridges that is, which I see no point in interlocking. Plus, I posted pictures that cover the main points of the map. Thanks for the feedback, though. EDIT: If you're talking about all those random scattered objects, I did that on purpose to provide cover, and to make the scenery nicer. Yeah, you're right. I probably won't make a V2, I'll just start working on a better, less sloppy map. P.S. I can geo-merge. You just can't see much of it in those pictures. But look at second-from-last. The open box is geo-merged.
don't pay attention to them about interlocking, all this -blam- is mostly them saying more interlocking. it is nice for a first mpa, it has a good layout, and i like the center structure. the only thing i would say is that you should have less jumps. put more ramps in. alot of getting around the map involves jumping. otherwise i like it.
overall the map is a good map. i would say that your map lacks the look that great maps have. i see that in many areas the structures are interlocked and then some are not. when building a map you should always aim to interlock. the maps look a lot better and generally are liked better. from what i see your forging skills are new. the map is ok but when you place respawn points its important to place them in a reasonable direction. i would also say that when posting a map you should take pics in theatre. the respawn points wont show. if this is your first map then good job. i would suggest that you look at some peoples map to get an idea of what a great map takes. i hope to see great things from you. if you want to forge sometime let me know.
Sniper X1 Rocket Launcher X1 Spartan Laser X1 Gravity Hammer X1 Energy Sword X1 Shotgun X2 Mauler X1 Frag Grenade X25+ =O You have way too many power weapons and an unbelievable amount of frag grenades. My suggestion is to leave at least 2 or 3 power weapons and decrease the amount of frags to about 4-8. I really like the map name, never seen that before. The map gives an urban feel, although you can still improve a lot on the cleanliness. Try interlocking the bridges to the double boxes so as they will be in the same level together.
