well of course, it would eat up the bandwidth and slooooow it down alot, so its most definitely not final. a little taster of profile portfolios(for paying members[none too sure on this] and staff) psd. file for those who wish to contribute
I'm in I am going to try a little web design for fun later and see if you like it! Edit: nvm about that I gotz to do my homework! Oh and a coverflow thing would be just absolutely insane!
if this actually goes down i'll help. but with the amount of involvement in forgehub (look at flubber44, dead) it'll be hard getting it setup.
Yeah a coverflow thing would be awesome but dont make this like the last GFsex thread. We need to find out if this is possible before we start planning it all out. We need to find a hosting site and an engine or a talented Web Dev. Start combing google. NAO.
I've got experience but i'm not sure if i've got the time. I can definitely set up a web like that, but not like coverflow. I've been looking for that type of script for a longg time.
Its probably going to be a very complicated java script. Try looking at Cooliris. Its an addon for firefox. It does that and en masse.
Ya I never thought about Cooliris. If we could some how get cooliris to function with this site like bungie. Although 1 sec. OK wat about this scrolling thing at the top of the page? SigTutorials.com - The best Signature Tutorials! Anyone like that?
Ya at the top ok well it is more of like a showcase that you can't control but still its pretty decent if no one can figure out how to get a coverflow.
yeah very much like the cool iris idea, i could try to talk to lionheart, but he's busy with other sites and is on holiday so it seems a bit iffy. i could try other web devs here but im not sure on their willingness to help, i dont know, i'll get mallet or tdh to post a thread in the hub pub for me
I just found a piece of free script thats similar to what we were looking for. JonDesign's (Javascript) SmoothGallery 2.0: Improved Mootools Mojo for Images | Full gallery) It doesnt show the next pieces though. But its free and its pretty darn close.
well, yeah but the coverflow design is alot more sleeeeeek but we need to work on the basics first imho, forums, layout etc.
Where would be a good place to start do you think? I think we should start with a free forum and see how much activity we get before making an investment.
yeah, as long its a good one thats safe and gives us a clear website url an old forum of mine the customisability is pretty poor though and its just a forum... ill look into buying a vbulletinboard, depends how much it is ill let you know if its paypal possible OMGAD, its steep but its paypal possible... £100 for indefinite usage £55 for a year Do we have that many willing members?
Yeah and we have to find hosting too. I dont know how that converts into dollars but that sounds like alot. Like i said, we should start out with a free engine and hosting.
right here but we need someone experienced with the phBB boards cos its totally confusing to customise it
