Like when the xbox is on or off, cuz i do that all the time it never works. And would putting it in a power strip affect it?

Xbox support told me that "the Xbox 360 works best when plugged directly into an outlet, even though a surge protector may be a wiser choice" I have mine plugged into a surge protector, and this does occasionally happen to me, make sure your power cord is plugged in tightly at all 3 inserts (into the outlet/surge protector/power strip, the AC adapter, and the Xbox 360) It should work fine if they are all plugged in tightly.

The 360 has Surge protection built into the power brick, and double surge protecting stuff isn't generally a good idea. It's been rumored to be one of the causes of RROD.....

    It's not a power brick, it's the power big-enough-to-be-a-power-wall/brick
