Map Title: ULTRAMAZE Confuse thine enemies! Download Map This map works best with normal slayer, so no special game types to download! You could try any slayer, though, I'm sure it would work great! Description: Spanning almost the entire floor of Foundry, and various levels too, this map's main goal is to confuse and thrill. Twists and turns are to be found everywhere, with teleporters taking you to places that you had never found before. A major positive about the level being complicated is that it is difficult to learn the level itself. This allows every game to be new and exciting; I aimed for the map to never become boring. Other points: I tried to spread out the starting and respawn points as best I could, so that players can explore every part of the map. There is a teleporter to a sniper tower. However, it is easy to be shot yourself from this tower, so be careful. Sometimes a teleporter will take you to the "sin bin", where the only way out is suicide. Please explore the entire map, you will find new places often! Finally, there is a mongoose hidden somewhere in the map. Congratulations to whoever finds it! Please give any feedback positive or negative. I would very much like to make an Ultramaze Part 2! Thank you.
the screen shots do not work when I try to view them on bungie.net, even if they are saved to my gallery, so I assume it is a problem on their side. I will post asking for help in the help section of the forum. In the mean time, does anyone here know what I'm doing wrong please? How do you usually get the screen shots? EDIT: the screen shots work for me now. If they don't work for anyone, please tell me! (how embarrassing...)
Take pictures in Halo 3. Go on your computer, find your most recent pictures on your profile. Click "View in High Res" (which downloads them) and save it to your computer. Upload them to a picture site like TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting. Highlight the link under "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" Post it on your thread.
I like your use of immovable objects. It makes it so people cant cheat. However, a simple grenade jump could be used.
Thanks! The grenade jumps are a problem, I was going to make each wall two-story, but there were not enough. I hoped people wouldn't grenade jump too much, as they would get nothing out of it. It is difficult to find people anyway! I understand that the sniper tower only works sometimes (the fences must be in the way). I will fix this for an update.
I'm sorry to say that this map looks a little immature. After proper testing I will update you with a game quality status, but in the meantime I feel I should tell you that the fact that there is no interlocking of objects does not help the map. This looks like a map made by someone the day Halo 3 came out and has no idea how to make a quality map. It is possible that you are new to it, however it does not change the fact that this is not a success. Love, AI_TWITCH
I'm sorry to say that this post looks a little immature. After proper reading I learnt nothing. Thanks for that. I wouldn't mind if that post helped, but it didn't. Yes I am new to forge, how do I make myself better?
Even though most maps are better with interlocking, they aren't based upon them. Seriously, people who think that interlocking makes a map and that it sucks without it should just get off ForgeHub.
I can see that you are new to forging (as you mentioned yourself) and if you are interested in improving check out the Forging 101 section for more help. As for the map it looks a little sloppy and very easily exploitable. Again refer to Forging 101 section for help on that. The layout seems a little complicated which is what you were going for as i can see. What i am surprised about is that it doesnt have a gametype because if using slayer the map can be easily manipulated to give some people an advantage especially wiht the slayer settings and close range weapons.(climbing on walls). With a few tweaks this map could be alot of fun. Try making a v2 and improving the map. If you dont have enough items you can always use boxes and to make two story walls. One more thing try not to take your pictures in forge and definitely NOT from first-person view as it adds alot of unnecessary figures onto the screen. Custom games and pressing "Y" button in theater works best as it allows you to free roam and in customs you dont see the spawn points or the blue "tears" on objects. For a beginners map this look pretty thought out but as i said you could have alot of success making a v2. 3.5/5 for this one.
To stop people from breaking it, just make a special gametype for it and lower the gravity and remove the starting grenades.
