I remember years ago, before I ever flew on a plane, and was a bit nervous of doing so, that there was some statistic claiming it was more likely to drown in your bathtub than get into a plane crash. Well...I don't think that's true anymore. Seems like in the recent years there has been quite a few plane crashes. It may not seem like an immense amount, but one is too many. And honestly, I kinda disgusted by the guy with the video camera, and than the website puting (VIDEO) in the title of the article. It's a tragedy, people don't need to stand around and gawk. News is already insensitive enough towards death as it is.
Well,I havn't heard of that yet, sounds horrible. That really sucks that all of these planes are wrecking
There was one lady on board who's husband died in 9/11 and she was going to celebrate his 40 or 50 something birthday over in new york.. Then another lady I guess missed the flight or decided not to go on it for some reason... that would feel really weird...
Yea that was a horrible event. I feel really for those 48 people that died. Does anyone know the cause of this plane crash?
The official number is 50 dead now. 49 on the plane and 1 in the house it hit. They don't know what caused it yet...the said ice could've been a factor.
Yeah I think it's called survivor's guilt. I can't even comprehend something like that happening to me.
There was this one time I was driving down like a country road. It's those twisty, turning back roads. Speed limit was 80 KM (I think 45-50 miles), and normally I would be doing 100, 110 down roads like this but for some reason I felt like I shouldn't. A car approached me speeding, and started to pass. Normally I'd be a jackass and speed up, since he was being a bit of a douche passing in the area he did. But for some reason I slowed down a lot, to like 40 or 50 KM, and let him in front. Just as I did, it was a turn, a car came down the other side of the road. I had not let him in, or been two seconds longer, he would have smoked the other car head on, and probably taken me with him. I was so shook up for days, thinking "what if I hadn't slowed down.." It's definitely not to the same level as not getting on a plane that crashes, but I'm sure the feeling is almost similar. It's almost similar to regret...if that makes any sense.
When I landed in Munich, I got picked up by a german family, and they didn't have a seat for me in the car, so I was in the trunk, and we went down one of those winding country roads, but at 75 mph and with rough shifting. In America, from my experience, the goal is to shift so there is a small jerk, but the drivers in Europe seem to try and increase the ups and downs and side to side of shifting. I was scared.
This is crazy stuff, I can't even imagine being in a plane about to crash. Yeah I mean the hudson river one was understandable because of the birds or whatever, but I'm interested to see what the story is behind this one.
Ugh, this is horrible. I can't stand hearing about stuff like this. Death, unexpected and unfortunate, is just terrible.
Yeah, this story is just so crazy. And the thought that the plane would crash right into a house... weird And not trying to be rude or thoughtless or anything, but it seems like a lot of planes have gone down in New York... just an observation, and a sad one at that
It hasnt been a lot, it has been 2, and the first one was heroically maneuvered to safety in the hudson... When I heard this I was pretty freaked out, cause of how recent the hudson crash had been. That's just crazy as ****. Plus the fear that a plane could come crashing into your house like that.... It really is horrible...
just off the heels of the Hudson River crash, which was a really miraculous and amazing event. The lord giveth and the lord taketh away, I suppose.
Only thing you can really count on is if you live no where near an airport, but still then theres a very small chance that a plane could. I heard there was no distress call, the plane just disappeared off the Radar and the tower radioed other planes in the area to see if they could see anything. Couple minutes later, emergency crews were called. Terrible story, but just think what the Controller must have been like.
Well if you read the article, it said that they did talk to the plane a minute or so before going down, and everything seemed fine. Thats creepy though, that they were all fine one minute, and another minute, 49 people died, and someone sitting in there house suddenly was hit by a plane, burning the house down and killing them...
Like I said before, there was no Distress call, which isvery odd. It could be that the plane lost its communications somehow but what are the chances?
The plane crashed literally in seconds. It just dropped down. There's no time for warnings like that.
