I don't devote my time to taking "professional" pictures, and as such this will likely be the only screenshot I ever post here. It was not staged, so please don't criticize me for the camera angle or the position of the spartan as much as you normally would, though I appreciate it if you tell me how it would be better for future reference. I felt that the picture had a nice atmosphere, for the exaggerated contrast between light and dark gave it a feeling of hopelessness, that the flamethrower was the only force holding back the darkness, and death.
You shouldn't put yourself down. Anyone can be a good photographer. Back to da pic. the ONE bad thing is the angle; if it was even a little more dramatic, it would've made a difference. Effect is good, and i can see the emotion coming from the Spartan. Maybe if we could see a little bit of the darkness that's coming? Great for a first pic; 4/5
BUDDDYDYDYDYYDYD!!11 I like this screenie. The only thing is I can't really tell which way the darkness is coming. You should have had it brighter behind the spartan so it looked like it was coming straight at him.
I felt that the darkness was encroaching on the spartan from all sides, from above creeping in behind him, on the flame thrower. I agree that I could have backed out a little to show more darkness and add to the drama and feeling of isolation, almost make it like Left 4 Dead, but when I originally took it, I was more focusing on how the darkness made the armor of the spartan look, cutting through it in such a way.
It's not great, but it's not bad. Try every angle you can think of before taking a pic, then decide which looks the best. 4/5.
