Hey guys, This is, as you might have guessed, a tutorial about how to get games for free. Before we get started, there are several crucial things you must make sure of so this may work. 1. You must live in the United States 2. This must be done at a Gamestop store, not online, in-store 3. The game you want for free must be available used 4. Keep the receipt in a place you can easily find it 5. Must have $55 for this to work for most newer used games. DO NOT WORRY. You will get all of your money back Ok, after you have made sure of all these things, make sure you follow my instructions exactly, with the exception of number 1. 1. (Optional) You should call ahead to your local Gamestop to see if they have your game of choice used. 2. Go to your local Gamestop and find your game of choice used. 3. Purchase said game, and check the receipt to ensure they still have the used game return policy. This policy is absolutely the most important part of the plan, so be sure it is still there. If you are unsure about it, ask an employee about thier used game return policy. 4. Play game for 6 days. If you do not like it, you can return it sooner, but no later. 5. On the 7th day, before it is a full 7 days after the time of purchase on the receipt, return the game. Even if you loved it and it is the best game you have ever played, return it. They should give you a full refund. 6. Come back later, (or to a different Gamestop immediately if you can't wait to play again) and re-purchase the used game. 7. Repeat as many times as you wish. This is also a good alternative to renting games. I did this with LAIR for the PS3, and couldn't get past a certain level. Thankfully, the 7 days were not up yet, so I was able to return it for a full refund. If I wanted, however, I could have easily repeated the steps and continued to play. So, there you go. You're simple guide to free games, with the only thing required being a drive a week to the nearest Gamestop.
Gas prices would eventually become equal to 60$. Why cheat a developer for all of there hard work, just buy it.
Abusing the return policy will eventually lead Gamestop to change their return policy to be more strict. Is this a security hole in the system. No. It's in place for legit returns if a game does not work or you don't like it. I completely appose this "free game whatchamacallit"
i didnt say you should abuse it, i said you should use it. plus going to different gamestops helps to lower suspicion
"How to get games free" is abusing the return system Gamestop has. The return system is for games that do not work or games you do not like. It is not used to play a game and then return it, because you beat it. Continued abuse(what you suggest in this thread) will force Gamestop to change its policies. A change of policies can affect all customers that purchase games at Gamestop. Perhaps a no return policy. Plus your return scheme affects the company's year end financial statements. Sure once or twice won't hurt the company. However, get a bunch of people doing it and it will adversely affect the financial statements.
This works better at Game in England. You get a 28 day money back guarantee there. but you can't keep buying it and returning it from the same store over and over. they get wise and they may even arrest you...
To be honest, I think GAME is quite expensive. You can get a lot better deals for games else where. I wouldn't even bother with the money-back garuntee thing, I normally buy the game, keep the game. It's a good strategy.
Let me point something out: The only reason this works is because the people you are going to are plain stupid, or have a manager who doesn't give a ****. No what would happen if you did that to me? You'd get the same, damn game. Yeah no money back when you opened it. And guess what, come back again with it? You get nothing. This is a disgraceful topic. I'm not overly found of gamestop after having been there a year. But this isn't even an intelligent scam, it's not even a real scam. Beside this isn't something you should be posting around about. :lock:
