This is an idea I had come up with I wanted to see what you think and determine some rules. Pretty much every month or so I'll post a new template on a non-Foundry map for people to forge off of. Maps must follow that week's theme and support the gametypes listed. Examples So far... No deleting any objects on map No blocking off anything already placed No moving anything already placed No Budget glitching the map You can change any weapon's/vehicle's/equipment's/ spawn time and symmetry settings You can change all other items symmetry options, but not spawn settings You can interlock into any immovable objects on the map ~Map submission~ -Forge Hub map post submission ---Link to thread ---Name of map -Direct Bungie.net link ---Link to Fileshare ---2 or more pictures ---1 overview picture ---At least one paragraph length write up (5-7 sentences) ---Map name Any input would be greatly appreciated.
So it would be just like the Template contest, only Non-Foundry? It sounds fairly interesting, yet tough to execute. You'd be limited to really only 3 or 4 maps, and the creativity might be limited, but if you make good templates it could work. Just don't add any other requirements (Such as what kind of map it has to be, etc) or the maps would all be eerily similar.
Hmm... I could release a couple templates at once and see what people come up with. I wasn't really thinking about putting too many items on a map though. Just some places of cover, a structure if you can interlock on the map, and maybe a couple of weapons... I think that both templates will probably be on the same map, that way it's easier to judge. Updated rules, you can change any weapon's/vehicle's/equipment's/ spawn time and symmetry settings. You can change all other items symmetry options, but not spawn settings. You can interlock into any immovable objects on the map,
I would like to see it on Blackout to be honest. the template should have boxes merged with lifts tunnels and a structure in the midst of it.
I'm thinking, instead of making it so open ended, I could add a theme to each contest. Like 2vs2, Multi-Flag, FFA Slayer. I could have rules on what gametypes in needs to support, I don't know just an idea. To the above poster, I'm actually thinking of doing Snowbound, Isolation, and Highground to start with. I do like the Blackout idea though. Maybe block off a few doors, or a couple hallways. I like where that one could lead, thanks for the input. Examples (added to OP)
