    I first started making this map for the Forge Like a Pro Contest the day before the maps were due, and got almost everything done in one day, but I couldn't decide what to go with in this corner so I didn't finish the map in time. I worked on it on and off for about 2 months changing stuff everywhere, and ended up finishing long after the contest was over. I'm glad I didn't submit it, because it wasn't as good as it is now. I got rid of a lot of needless stuff and added a lot more things that are essential to it playing well.

    I designed the map so where ever you are, you have an escape route. You might have to use a dumpster as cover, or you might be able to drop down to a lower level, but wherever you are, there is something to use to stay alive.

    I've played about 6-7 1v1's on this, a couple FFA's, a 2v2, and a few 3v3's and 4v4's. It's made for 1v1's and FFA's, but 2v2's run pretty good. 3v3's are okay, but 4v4's are pretty crazy. It's setup for up to 8 players, but there are occasionally bad spawns so I wouldn't recommended it if you're trying to have a truely competitive game. 1v1's and FFA's are the way to go on this map. The Octagon gametype is pretty fun on this too.


    Weapons:

    2x Carbine
    8x BR

    2x Sticky
    2x Frag

    1x Camo


    The Camo does not spawn at start, and spawns 2 minutes into the game. There was no way to make it directly in the center of both start spawns, so I decided to try it spawning 2 minutes in and it worked great. There are no close-range weapons on the map, so the camo isn't too powerful. It also adds a little more skill into the game in timing the Camo, as some people might forget to be timing it.


    Note: FOR SOME REASON WHEN I WENT THROUGH TO GET PICS I HAD THE WEAPONS ON THE MAP SET TO SNIPERS ONLY, IDK WHY. THERE ARE TWO CARBINES ON THE MAP, AND THE REST ARE BRS. THERE ARE NO SNIPERS ON THE MAP.

    this an amazing map interlcking looks good and layout amazing it is perfect and i like how the active camo spawns after 2 minutes. 5/5

    strangest looking carbine ive ever seen........
    the map looks great over all. looks a bit sloppy in some places. the geomerges look really nice. lacking a bit in the asthetics but ill give a 9.5/10

    wow this map is great! especially cuz its just me and my brother playing cuz he doesnt like connecting to xbox live for some reason so its just us two playing and we havent had a good 1v1 in forever! sweet interlox and geomerges! i'ma DL this right now! :D

    Great map. I can't find anything wrong with the map except for that carbine. I didn't know that bungie remodeled carbines to look like sniper rifles? lol, jk jk

    Interlocking and geomerging look wonderfully smooth and pleasing to the eye. Layout looks good and the weapon placement looks good too. Overall 5/5 keep forging

    This looks very interesting not only for 1v1, but also for 2v2. Your thought to multi-leveled gameplay is good. Although the camo location is really questionable. Try to put it in a more hidden location. Shouldn't this be in the MLG maps section?

    Wow. Nice interlocking and geomerging, looks like you spent a lot of time on it. I have a suggestion: Take the camo out and put a custom power up, add MLG settings to the map and this would be a sick MLG map. Otherwise it's great but maybe put the camo on something other than a dumpster,like a geomerged box or something. Great post though.

    I put it out in the middle of the map so that it was visible from all over. It also makes it a risk to pick up when it's sitting out in the middle of the open, which is why it's there.

    I had a custom there, but picking it up gave you at least 2 free kills and it wasn't really fair. A camo works a lot better. This is also technically an MLG map, but I posted it here because it doesn't have to be played with MLG settings. The reason I don't have the camo on a geo-merged box or something is because it's pointless when a dumpster works fine. Also I wanted it so you had to jump to get the camo, so if I had a geo-merged box there it would take away from the aspect of jumping up to get it. I hope that made sense.

    Hrm. Huh. Let's see.

    Parts are really nice. Your first set of pictures is pretty good, showcasing the strengths of this map. I just have two tiny problems. First, the fourth picture after your "don't say WTF" interjection shows what looks to me like the most boring geometry I've ever seen, almost equal to the original Foundry. Secondly, I see a lot of places in this map where one could camp ridiculously. The third picture from the bottom, for instance, has a ledge that could be used to the worst extent.

    Other than those two complaints, the geometry for this map feels really fresh and new. Keep up the hard work, mate.

    I like the asymmetric layout. I ran around it a couple nights ago and i felt it would play out pretty fairly. I've yet to get some games on it, but im sure we can get some goin this weekend, no? personally, id like to see a more lively weapon layout (even though i know your a mlg kinda guy). i think the varied weapons and the strategies each one requires are what make halo unique and replayable, but thats just my opinion. anyway, lookin forward to playin this

    I looked at my pics, and I think you mean this one is the one with bad geometry, right? I agree with you, everything about it sucks to look at. I used to have a double box merged with the wall of Foundry with a grav lift to get up on it, but it really didn't flow too well. It's a lot more open now and it's more of a spawning area. I put dumpsters there instead, and they serve as both cover and ways to jump up onto a higher area.

    About the camping, this spot which you pointed out actually has a spawn point behind the wall. I put the wall there because I'd actually seen people spawn there a few times while I was testing, and by putting a wall there it gives them some cover and a chance to defend themself off of spawn. While someone could camp there if they want like you suggested, there's no mauler or close-range weapons on the map, so the only thing they could really do is use sticky nades. There's also this huge ledge right above it, so it gives a huge height advantage against anyone who is there. It's also included as a spot to somewhat "hide" to get your shields back in the middle of a BR fight. Of course the person shooting at you will know you're there, but the wall in the way helps you avoid shots and get some shields back before you pop out again.

    Hopefully that cleared some stuff up. If you see anything else you think could be improved I'll definitely take a look at it.


    I remember there was one time when I was still testing this when we were gonna play, and half the map didn't spawn haha. We can definitely play it this weekend though if you want.
