I have been having problems with slow matchmaking. Everytime we find a match it restarts the search. I believe I know what the problem is.

Let me explain our setup, me and my buddy run off the same modem. When we run the xbox live connection test the first xbox will have an open (NAT)(Network Address Translation) and the second xbox will have a moderate (NAT).

I think it is the walmart router we have, my question, is there a setting on the router that I can change to make them both open, or do I have to upgrade my router, maybe wireless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Matt Johnson: E-town, Indiana

Mine did that for a while. I fixed it by un wirelessing it (putting a cable instead of wireless adaptor) but if you cant do that, I would recamend a new router.

Never heard of it. Is it an ISP or just the router? Sorry if I sound stupid, Im still learning.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust Walmart with anything.

Linksys is the way to go with routers.

Did you try the Walmart help site? *slight giggle*

your problem is a result of a problem with NAT: it has issues forwarding the same port to two devices at the same time. If you could tell us what model you have, it would help a lot.

If your issue is indeed with NAT, go to www.portforward.com and choose your model. There should be guides for just about anything you need to forward there.

    Highfive!

Portforward is such a handy site, I even bought the port opening thing to open my ports because it takes too long to do it otherwise.
