Ok, last night I finally saw the Dark Knight for the first time, I really liked it, and decided to make a sig. I am not the best at graphics; I am still kind of a beginner. Here is two versions I made..

Personally, I think that the first one is the best.

at first i was afraid i was gonna have to tell you that you shamed the dark knight ;)

I was wrong.. its not bad from what i've seen from you. sorry if i sound pissed or something, im feeling autistic right now.. its like the bad side of my bi-polar-ness....

anyways, i do like the shaking effects, and the whole tilted scheme of the whole thing. text not too great but its alright. i do like the top one, cause i like that shattered part of the building in the background.

Work on text, maybe make up a nickname for yourself.. "eguitarplaya33" is kind of awkward. I also don't like the straight blackness on the left side. crop some of that out. also, the 1px border on the sides and the thicker border on the top and bottom don't really work well together.. one or the other i think. also, try blurring the building with maybe a 10% opacity blur brush. it will take some focus off of it but still leave it seeable

Those shaking "effects" are just poor smudging, one of the many defects of gimp [amirite?]. Its boring. Mono-tone. Bland text. Black empty space. Also, from what i can see on my comp, the border is a dark grey, not a black.

I guess a good nickname would be "E" lol

but ya thanks for rating this, I really want to learn to be good at this but ya I like gradients a lot and I think I abused it this time because theh left side of the sig is very dark and bland. I hear you idea about the building and I will take that into consideration for future sigs.

    Thanks KK

gradients are nice. The tools i use most are the sharpen and blur- to bring out the parts of the image i want to stand out, burn and dodge- to make things seem more 3D by making the shadows more extreme, though not to that extent, and gradient maps. Your mapping turned out ok, but yeah like you said the dark left isnt the best

Ripple effect is a funny thing.

Good job, I prefer the second one. The text in there complements the signature.

GIMP's ripple is different from Photoshop's.
